Make Tita Miriam Defensor Santiago's Death Anniversary A National Holiday

It's the first death anniversary of Miriam Defensor Santiago. I wish that her death anniversary will be declared as a national holiday. If possible, it's more than time to remove Ninoy Aquino Day and declare the late Miriam as a national heroine. Although she's not buried at the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani but she deserves to be called a heroine.

I remembered the time she ran for president. I would have voted for her if she wasn't a cancer patient. She was a worthy rival of President Rodrigo R. Duterte. She had cancer. She did the "unthinkable" when she picked Bongbong Marcos as her running mate. Fans of Leni Loud Robredo can go ahead and sang Bongbong is Bobong Marcos, Buangbuang Marcos or an idiot but the truth is revealed. Think about it how much has Bongbong done in contrast to Leni Loud in the political arena? It's sad to think she was so sick yet she ran. I guess she saw that Bongbong was competent to run the country. I believe now that Bongbong is the rightful president and that dumping his protest is unfair. If Leni Loud Robredo truly won then why is she afraid of the recount?

She was known to have her temper but she threw it where it deserves to be thrown. Whether it was the Corona impeachment trial which targeted Neil Tupas or the SAF-44 trial with Alan La Madrid Purisima. She tirelessly fought against the pasaways of Filipino politics. That's why she deserves to have the Ramon Magsaysay Award during the late 80s. She cared about competence and didn't go for the Pwede Na Yan mentality. She has a lot of achievements that we can't ignore in spite of her flaws. Then she was gone. She's the best president the Philippines never had and one of the best senators that the Philippines ever had.

Once again, #RIPMiriam you will be sorely missed.
