Happy Fall of Saigon anyone? The Fall of Saigon was the conclusion of the 19-year armed struggle of the Vietnam War on April 30, 1975. North Vietnam was a Communist country while South Vietnam had the Vietnamese First Policy. Ngo Dimh Diem (who was later assassinated in Ho Chi Minh City). One might compare Ngo Dimh Diem to Emperor Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.  Isn't it ironic that Ho Chi Minh NEVER got honored by the CPP-NPA? Ho's portrait is nowhere to be seen compared to Karl Marx, Frederick Engels, Vladimir Lenin (who hated palamunins), Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong. Ho led a revolt that eventually toppled Ngo's regime. Ho started out as a pastry chef and became a revolutionary leader. Think about it Ho himself is more honorable than Sison.   A few days ago, a news I missed was that Janella Salvador called out the dismissive attitude of Filipinos towards Filipino films . Here's her statement that may make one wary:  "There’s nothing wrong naman with having a preference. Kumbaga, you can watch the films you want, there’s no problem with that. Pero, I think just saying that you have no time for Philippine cinema is too much.  I'd look at this and it seems that Janella herself is actually calling for FILIPINO FIRST POLICY. Better call it FAILIPINO FIRST POLICY. I'm not going to mince words here like she didn't mince words. Sure, she did say that there's nothing wrong with having a preference. However, the part where she says that it's too much to say that one doesn't have time for Philippine cinema. This is where things can be very alarming. One time, Senator Unggoy Estrada nearly got into hot water for his dumb proposal (which he later recanted) namely banning K-Dramas . What teleseryes need is COMPETITION with other TV dramas - not more protectionism. Whether we want to admit it or not - local Philippine TV networks are KEPT ALIVE through badly dubbed imported TV dramas. A recent update is that Vagabond Seaosn 2 will film in the Philippines . I'm either surprised (or not). Suzy Bae has a couple of shows that made it big in the Philippines such as Uncontrollably Fond on GMA-7 and Dream High on ABiaS-CBN. Lee Seung Gi is remembered not just for a couple of K-Dramas such as Shining Inheritance and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho . Seung Gi is also remembered for being Gong Cha's endorser for some time. Many Filipinos probably still remember those shows. A possible cause of the delays was the Legacy Virus pandemic.   It can be very easy for people to say I'm just jealous of Maria Ressa's awards. One can say that I'm jealous of Ressa's Nobel Fish Fries . What can't be denied is that Stephen Sackur didn't want to believe everything Ressa said. Before the Nobel Fish Fries and the Sackur Punch Award - she had her Golden Pen of Freedom award in 2018 . We have Ressa's desperate appeal to the clueless Western media . The big question is, "Did any of those awards generate jobs for Filipinos?"  I checked the #FactsFirstPH initiative which was last 2022 . However, the many members of #FactsFirstPH are really questionable like Bulatlat, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBPC), Tarantadong Kalbo, and the IBON (IPOT) Foundation. Like wut? They had invited Human Rights Watch to help, and should I mention ABiaS-CBN among the people Rappler is joining forces with. One can always shout, "Hooray! Maria Ressa won an award!" Migraine International is really getting laughable. They still honor the late Flor Contemplacion as if she's some heroine . One photo of Migraine International is that their members in HONG KONG are protesting against charter change. A funnier part of the tarpaulin says, "Wala sa dayuhan ang ikauunlad ng Bayan!" All the while they're PROTESTING IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY. This comedic moment is totally and REALLY FUNNY at epic levels. Some people still continue to use EDSA to say no to charter change, right? Some of them are the Yellowtards. This reminds me of how the Yellowtards are very similar to the Maoists. The late Noynoy Aquino is revered nearly on the same level -- if not the same level -- as Mao Zedong . Noynoy was cremated -- the very request that Mao wanted before he died . Chances are that like Mao -- Noynoy requested to be cremated before he died. However, powerful officials wanted to preserve Mao's body so he could join the likes of Vladimir Putin and Ho Chi Minh. POLITIKO I used to read Rappler and the Manila Times . You may notice many of my articles here quote Rigoberto "Bobi" (better yet BOBO) Tiglao. I've written some scathing articles as a private citizen questioning Maria Ressa's credibility. I watched the BBC HARDtalk interview laughing when Ressa, though calm, still made a fool out of herself on the same show . I was amazed at how Sackur himself managed to hit Ressa with some rebuttals. Fortunately, Ressa kept her calm even after the show ended. I would often refer to Tiglao's articles such as articles on Liela Dilemma , who's currently out on bail, and the new spokesperson of the Liberal Party of the Philippines-Dilawan People's Army (LPP-DPA) while Angat Buhay remains as its legal front. The LPP-DPA may not be as dangerous as the CPP-NPA. However, their devotion to the late Noynoy Aquino is almost eerily similar to CPP-NPA members' devotion to the late Joma Sison.
