You can see the bright smile of the mother and the happy children as they receive her  first-class spaghetti that will make Gordon Ramsay praise with no end  as she's becoming more and more highly popular with the urban poor . Once again, Jim Paredes tries to stay relevant with EDSA -- a trend that's already dying for the good reason that change hasnn't come much AFTER EDSA. Again, I'm not saying that the Marcos Years were the golden years of the Philippines. I'm not saying Marcos is a dictator we should all adore and that the Philippines was better off with him. However, Jim himself showed that he was actually a REAL BULLY  and he's yet to apologize to the victims of his bullying . Happy 35th anniversary to EDSA today, right? It's very easy to get stuck in the hype that EDSA Revolution toppled the Marcos Years which were obviously NOT the golden years. It's very easy to talk about the human rights abuses of the Marcos Years such as the arrest of political opponents, ABiaS-CBN being SHUT DOWN FOR REAL (unlike today's loss of franchise), and seized from the Lopezes, and the crony capitalism. Yet, what's most often forgotten is that the Marcos Years was characterized by RAMPANT economic protectionism which also allowed more room for human rights abuses . The Marcos Years sank the Philippines into much debt not just because the Marcoses stole money from the Philippine treasury or misused taxes -- it was also because they protected the oligarchs from foreign competitors via economic protectionism. The EDSA Revolution has had its milestones and narration. 2016 marked the anniversary of the downfall of the dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr.'s regime . Now, we're hitting the 35th year since February 23, 1986, when the revolution started. The same question needs to be asked again, "WHERE IS THE PROMISED CHANGE AFTER EDSA?" I'm not saying that overthrowing Marcos isn't a good thing. The Marcos regime was characterized with rampant human rights violations. What's annoying is that there are critics of Marcos is that some of them still want to retain protectionist policies and/or remain in a presidential sytem . Some of them don't even bother to realize that the human rights abuses during the Marcos years were caused by economic protectionism . Marcos protected the interests of HIS CRONIES from foreign competition, still enforcing the Filipino First Policy by Carlos P. Garcia. I'm amazed at the lack of logic Pinoy Ako Blog (PAB) has in one way or another. Another artwork by PAB shows them complaining about the rising debts related to COVID-19 . I'm not saying that it's wrong to raise up the issues. However, these people whine and whine about debts related to NECESSARY COVID-19 expenses while they keep asking for FREE STUFF like handouts from the government . It takes no genius to figure out Jover is THAT STUPID that arguing with her directly is a waste of time. Yet, she's considerably got a following that can't be underestimated either. The network itself is unfolding one way or another. It seems that Jover herself is already exposing her possible communist connections . That would be two days after the celebration of EDSA Revolution.
