Sorry To Say But Jim Paredes' Trying To Stay Relevant This EDSA's 35th Anniversary Is Just PATHETIC

Once again, Jim Paredes tries to stay relevant with EDSA -- a trend that's already dying for the good reason that change hasnn't come much AFTER EDSA. Again, I'm not saying that the Marcos Years were the golden years of the Philippines. I'm not saying Marcos is a dictator we should all adore and that the Philippines was better off with him. However, Jim himself showed that he was actually a REAL BULLY and he's yet to apologize to the victims of his bullying. I'm amazed that he even has fans who pretend like he's a decent guy even if he's shown he's actually not a decent person during the celebration of EDSA last 2017. The logic would also go that Duterte supporters' tantrums equals indecency yet it's okay for Dilawans to throw tantrums? Jim may have not been saying words like p*tangina or the like but that doesn't change the fact his decency is FAKE at best

Jim is now saying that "we" have failed EDSA. Who are the we that Jim is saying failed EDSA? Is he saying that the Filipinos have failed EDSA. Then he says that EDSA did not fail us. The big issue is that EDSA in itself should be a lesson but not something to stick to. The problem was that EDSA did succeed in overthrowing a dictatorial regime but failed to bring in badly needed reforms. Instead, the 1987 Constitution wasn't well thought of and was a knee-jerk reaction. The 1987 Constitution was meant to be open and flexible to amendments yet many of the later constitutionalists set it in stone. The post-EDSA years continued the same flawed governance of Marcos -- president with powers (and yes, Ninoy Aquino was right to call it a mock parliamentary), protectionist economy (though businesses were restored to rightful owners), and the Imperial Manila system. In short, it was just a REGIME change and not a SYSTEM change. The band-aid solution was to limit the terms of the president rather than to add a system that will allow competent leaders to serve as many terms as possible.

Jim's relevance is dying. No, I don't suggest talking about that leaked video of him making a fool out of himself. I'm talking about how Jim made a fool out of himself with his stupidity and arrogance. The Duterte Youth Partylist were rather calm and collected in facing this arrogant old man. Did Jim even forget that the country he moved into (Australia) is actually federal-parliamentary and friendly to foreign direct investment? I'm not saying Jim should become a Duterte supporter. If he wants to be relevant again -- he should talk about real SYSTEM CHANGE and not just put his beloved Dilawans back to power. The late Carlos Celdran was anti-Duterte yet he was in for full system change. Jim should do the same even if he can still remain anti-Duterte. If not, he can continue to remain irrelevant if he continues to support the 1987 Constitution like it was set in stone while his family is living in Australia, a land with a better constitution.
