WTF: Activists Want To Raise The Prices Of Unhusked Rice While Lowering Down The Prices Of Rice Grains?!

After seeing this all I can say is -- WTF to many levels because of how stupid the demand is. For non-Tagalog readers, the protest signboard says, "Increase the prices of unhusked rice! Decrease the price of rice grains!" This makes me want to remind readers that they don't need a doctorate in business administration or economics to understand this rather simple short statement. I'm no economist but I know how stupid the demand is because I do some more self-study on basic economics. The protesters show the obvious problem that not understanding basic economics makes cavemen out out of people . How can you produce cheaper rice grains if the prices of unhusked rice are higher? Prices of goods and services don't only decrease with an increase of supply and lowering of demand. It's also determined by the cost of materials involved used to make the finished product aside aside from labor costs and utility costs. If the prices of rice grains are low then it...

Question For Rallyists: After Two EDSA Revolutions -- Where's The Change For The Better?

I considered that there was not one but TWO EDSA Revolutions. One was against the late Ferdinand E. Marcos and the other was against Joseph "Erap" Ejercito-Estrada. Was there going to be an EDSA-3 during the time of Noynoy Aquino? After two EDSAs -- it's time to ask, "Where's the change that was promised?" Let's go back to EDSA-1 and think about the whole situation. The overthrow of the 20 years Marcos Regime came but where's the change? The problem was that certain problems during the Marcos Years eventually escalated post-Marcos years. The new 1987 Constitution  ended up strengthening cronyism instead of weakening it. The Marcos cronies ended up gaining more power instead and the oligarchy had new allies -- the Aquinos. The whole EDSA-1 was merely a power grab. It was merely a change in power from Marcoses to Aquinos. Where was the real change for the better? The Cory Years ended and it didn't take long for the Ramos Regime to take over. ...

Cory Years Failure: Pardoning Certain Convicted Criminals As "Martial Law Victims"

I don't know what to believe in anymore after many years of deceit. I could remember studying Civics and Culture in my elementary years. The whole book was painted in Yellow where it wanted to make Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. look like he was always a villain and Aquinos are always the heroes. Just because the Marcos Years weren't the golden years doesn't mean that the Aquino years are the golden years of the Philippines, too. First, we could talk about the Light a Fire Movement which involved Jim Paredes' mother Ester Paredes. The whole Light a Fire movement was not heroic. I don't see anything heroic about trying to set on fire certain sites because those could have hurt innocent people. Just because Marcos Sr. was a dictator doesn't justify what they did. He was inside the mall but that incident was still a crime. Those who were in the Light a Fire Movement hurt and killed people. I don't see any reason why they should be regarded as martial law victi...

Those Student Rallyists From State Universities Should Ask Their Respective Organizations To Help Them Should They Flunk Schooling

It really makes me want to hit my head on the wall when Representative Sarah Elago said that they will expect more students to walk out of their classes to fight the "Duterte dictatorship". What dictatorship? Is it dictatorship to revoke the scholarships and kick students out who keep walking out of their classes to attend rallies? It's been the trend -- and not just during President Duterte's time to walk out of one's classes to attend rallies done by idiot activist. These students in public schools are using taxpayers' money to finance majority of their education. But what do they do? They end up choosing to attend rallies instead of prioritizing their classes . That money should be used to help their parents so they could get an education. But they are walking out of their classrooms to attend rallies. They may even dare, "I don't care if my grades fall -- as long as it's not my country." Please, are they trying to prevent their coun...

Those UP Student Rallyists Can Go Rally Some More And They May Eat Their Words Sooner Or Later

It doesn't look like that President Duterte was joking when he said that he has considered revoking the scholarships of rallyist students . I think that should be carried on for one good reason -- it's a waste of taxpayers' money to give free education to students who walk out of their classes instead of attending them. Now there's Representative Sarah Elago of the Kabataan Partylist who doesn't take the warning seriously. Instead, she chooses to threaten with more rallies to fight President Duterte's "dictatorship" -- which is all in their heads. There's nothing dictatorial about revoking the scholarship of students who skip their classes to attend communist rallies. Why should taxpayers' money be used on students who don't even attend their classes and waste their scholarship? That free education should be used for people to get their education in their classrooms. Instead, they are turning the taxpayers' money for free educatio...

Antonio Trillanes IV Better Think Twice Before Launching Another Coup

I remembered writing a post on whether or not you'll join Antonio Trillanes IV should he ever plan another coup . With the EDSA Revolution's annivarsary just around the corner -- it's safe to assume that maybe Trillanes is planning to do another coup. This time it would be against President Duterte himself. It looks like he hasn't learned his lesson from the failed coup he did during the time of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He ran, he escaped and he was arrested for his crimes. Later, former president Noynoy Aquino foolishly gave him his pardon. If Trillanes really compared himself to Ninoy Aquino then he deserves to be compared to said person. Those two persons are much alike in one area -- all they do is talk and talk. Ninoy was just a talkative politician who refused to shut up. The same goes for Trillanes -- all he does is spread gossip in the Senate instead of doing his job. He gives unsubstantiated fantasies here and there. What has he even achieved in the Sena...

Hilarious Davide Jr. VS. John Gokongwei Jr. On Economic Constitutional Reform

It doesn't take an economist or a political analyst to understand who's right -- if you are diligent enough to do some self-research on basic politics and economics . It's time to do a study on Hilarious Davide Jr. and John Gokongwei Jr. on who's more qualified to talk about economic constitutional reform. A comparison shows a bit of which expertise is which. Davide doesn't know business and economics while Gokongwei knows how business and economics works. In my journey to learn -- I know which man I'd go for legal advice in court and which man I'd go to consult to make a good economic model. The choice is clear that it's a wise decision to listen to Gokongwei about economic constitutional reform than Davide. What does Davide know much about business and economics and his current statements about economic liberalization prove it. Why is Gokongwei more qualified to talk about the need and advantages of economic reforms in the constitution? It's...
