Right now, I feel pretty mixed about the arrest of Nicolas Maduro. I got the news from one of Rosmary Altuve Gomez's social media posts (congratulations on her engagement, BTW). It's not surprising that Makabayd Bloc decides to STAND BY NICOLAS MADURO of Venezuela. It's also funny that one of its members, Carlos "Heneral Lunatic" Zarate, is a thinner version of Maduro! Makabayad Bloc considers the attack as simply "another Imperialist Takeover" because of Venezuela's natural resources.
It's hypocritical that Bayad Muna has branches in countries that BENEFITED from a better constitution. Standing by the Venezuelan people? Well, the truth of the matter is that the Venezuelans are actually RELIEVED that Venezuela is free of Maduro's BLOODY REGIME. If Bayad Muna really cares about Venezuela then WHY BACK MADURO? Maduro was infamous for eating expensive steak while his people starved. Venezuelans in the USA (like Rosmary) are now celebrating over Maduro's arrest. It may only be a matter of time before Bayan USA will clash with Venezuelas who have become Americans, to escape Maduro's wicked self-serving regime that fattens itself while Venezuela starves.
Above is a press statement from Makabayad Bloc. Yes, Gagabriela (where Sarah Jane Elgago is now, due to her age), Kabataan Pantylist, and the Alliance of Complaining Teachers are among them. It should be funny, given that China's Xi Jinping has renounced the attacks too. Makabayad Bloc has been so many failed opportunities one way or another.
It's amazing how Makayabad Bloc hasn't sided with China or Vietnam -- two countries under a Communist regime. They tend to say that FDI equals a Chinese takeover. Why wouldn't the people in Makabayad Bloc welcome Chinese investors with open arms as comrades instead? Why hasn't the CPP-NPA even tried to learn from the CPV-VPA in Vietnam? Instead the Makabayad Blocks sticks to Venezuela's proven defective model.
