Coincidence Or Not: Kabataan Pantylist Launches Kabataan In Your Area (KAYA) Three Days Before Vietnam Youth Union's 94th Anniversary

The Vietnam Youth Union (Doan Thanh Nien) is preparing its 94th anniversary this March 26, 2025. Interestingly, Kabataan Pantylist launched its KAYA project which means Kabataan In Your Area. Is this a coincidence or a deliberate action? Hmmm... because it doesn't look coincidental when you consider some facts.

The Vietnam Youth Union was founded on March 26, 1931. Kabataan Pantylist was founded on June 19, 2001. That would mean 70 years after the Vietnam Youth Union was founded. Previously, Ho Chi Minh founded it under the name of the Indochina Communist Youth Union. It's also known as the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union since December 1976. Did the late Joma Sison decide to create Kabataan Pantylist because he was still too inspired by the Vietnam War?

The second factor was the rising tide of radicalisation around the world. Sison founded the CPP at the end of the year which had seen the Tet offensive in Vietnam, the student revolt in France which triggered a mass strike by 10 million workers, the continuing rise of the black liberation movement in the US, and much more.

Young people in the Philippines were part of that radicalisation. War in Vietnam was the fuel which powered the movement. The Philippines was involved in two ways—by sanctioning the use of US bases in the archipelago for the war effort, and by the dispatch of the Philippine Contingent.

Joma Sison may be dead. However, there's still the tag #KaJomaLives. Why do you think CPP-NPA legal fronts like Bayad Muna, Kabataan Pantylist, Alliance of Complaining Teachers, Gagabriela, Migraine International, Anakpatis, and Lazy Filipino Students -- are still ACTIVE? After all, Ho may be dead but the CPP-VPA is still active -- with all its organizations like the Vietnam Youth Union, the Vietnam Women's Union, Vietnam National Union of Students, and Vietnam Teacher's Union? It's because an ideology is DIFFCULT TO KILL.

Honestly, both wear the color blue and are involved in youth recruitment. Is Kabataan Pantylist trying to mimic the Vietnam Youth Union once again? It's a sad fact BUT Kabataan Pantylist still sticks to the obsolete Joma Iskol Bukol of Thought. The Vietnam Youth Union has embraced Doi Moi or restoration. Kabataan Pantylist should be considered a POOR COPY of the Vietnam Youth Union.
