Will The Philippines Soon Have A Noynoy Aquino Day?

Today is Ninoy Aquino Day - the death anniversary of the late Noynoy Aquino's father. It's been ironically declared a holiday by Noynoy's archenemy Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2004. Before that, Ninoy's death was ANYTHING BUT A HOLIDAY. The death of Noynoy last June 24, 2021, would raise feelings. The Dilawans were practically nearly like the Maoists when Mao died - even if Noynoy NEVER attempted to repeat two of Mao Zedong's genocidal campaigns. Noynoy wasn't stupid enough to try Mao's version of the Great Leap Forward. The economy did improve under Noynoy but it wasn't significant enough to be called a Great Leap Forward like the late Deng Xiaoping's. Six years is NEVER ENOUGH for such an ambitious plan. Several plans by Noynoy purchased late in his term had to be finished by former president Rodrigo R. Duterte. In short, think that many projects under Noynoy were left unfinished because of TERM LIMIT.

Noynoy died during the pandemic so having a funeral as crowded as Mao's was just impractical. That would've spread COVID-19 and the public wasn't allowed to directly pay their last respects. Sure, there were the Liberal Party members who showed up like the late Stinky Soliman. We also have Atty. Leni Loud Robredo. There couldn't be a massive Armed Forces of the Philippines display that could give Noynoy that grand funeral the Yellowtards wanted. Unlike Mao, Noynoy was cremated for a reason presumably out of protocol even if he didn't die of the Legacy Virus. Noynoy was given a proper ceremony and his urn was taken to the Manila Memorial Park. There was no ceremony where Noynoy's body was taken to EDSA to be preserved in a glass coffin like Mao's. Instead, Noynoy's body was incinerated presumably out of proper protocol. No picture of Noynoy was ever raised at EDSA like Mao's was. It didn't have representatives from other countries going to pay respect to Noynoy like in Mao's wake.

Some Kakampinks were dumb to say, "Every time the Philippines needs help - an Aquino dies!" Did they ever forget that the late Cory Aquino was born a COJUANGCO? Good thing that Kris Aquino didn't decide to run since her health is already questionable. Some Kakampinks still insist that Leni Loud was cheated by President Bobong Marcos. I could imagine what if some existing Kakampink senators (such as Senator Kikoman Pangilinan and Risa Hontivirus) would pass a new law called "Noynoy Aquino Day". It would be declaring June 24 either as a local holiday (for Tarlac) or a national holiday. Duterte did declare a state of mourning after all.

Until now, no plans to build a Noynoy Aquino Memorial Center (preferably at EDSA) are there. Just think that Noynoy never had a funeral as grand as Mao's neither was his picture raised at EDSA. If China has Tiananmen then the Philippines has EDSA. The late Jesse Robredo was cremated yet a memorial center was still raised in his place. A replica of Noynoy's body could be used in place of his cremated body. His ashes can still be transferred to the memorial center. There's an Aquino Center and Museum in Tarlac. Yet, it would be more appropriate if it were set in EDSA. It would be a place open to the public.

I just wonder if there will be any attempt to make a holiday after Noynoy. After all, he was a president and he was definitely NOT a Marcos. I still think the late Emperor Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was the worst president ever. It's because Marcos Sr. ruled with utter ruthlessness and rampant economic protectionist policies. Like Mao, Noynoy had the admiration of his followers and he treated them right. Unlike Joma Sison, Mao stood by the revolution until the very end. The Yellow People's Army had a leader who was still worth respecting. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if Noynoy's death anniversary ends up as a holiday one way or another.
