Will ABiaS-CBN Adapt The Netflix KDrama "Glitch" As A Sequel To "Kokey"?

 

KDramas tend to get bastardized when the teleserye remake (or adaptation) happens, right? I wrote an article where I mentioned that teleserye versions of imported shows feel like bootleg. Sure, they're not bootleg, legally speaking, but in QUALITY, they are BOOTLEG. With Glitch coming up on Netflix - I feel that ABiaS-CBN might really want to adapt the show and make it a sequel to their cheap flick Kokey. 

I remembered how I made some jokes comparing Jin A Nana's face to Shaina Garcia Magdayao. The leading star is Jeon Yeo Bin. There's no news (yet) of a possible Vincenzo remake but jokes that Coconuts Martin would probably be involved were made. Coconuts' "hit show" Ang Probinsyano finally met its ending after seven agonizing years of terrible storytelling. Now, I could imagine the possibility of what could happen in a Kokey remake. 

ABiaS-CBN created a teleserye known as Kokey in 2007. Later, ABiaS-CBN released a sequel of sorts called Kokey at Ako (Kokey and Me) in the year 2010. It's been some time since the second Kokey series ended. I could just imagine the lame plot that ABiaS-CBN would come up. Glitch is said to be only up to 10 episodes. Knowing ABiaS-CBN, it might be 100 episodes or even more.

The possible plot (?) that ABiaS-CBN might cook up is to link it to Kokey. Maybe, we can expect Angel Locsin Colmenares-Arce to be the main character. Maybe Hong Ji Hyo will be renamed as Jennifer Hontiveros. Shaina Magdayao might become the UFO watcher that Nana plays. Maybe, Shaina's character will be named Barbie Hernandez since the Korean character is Heo Bo Ra. I could imagine the plot where Jennifer loses her boyfriend and she suspects it's aliens. 

I can't tell what shenanigans may come out. Maybe, it'd be something IF ABiaS-CBN might decide to use Nana's fight footage and pass it off as Shaina. We know how Shaina and Nana kinda look alike. However, physical differences can easily tell them apart like Nana's obvious lack of sex appeal vs. Shaina's sex appeal. Also, Nana has a blackbelt and Shaina well... we know we can't expect Roxanne in Ang Probinsyano to pull off badass fight scenes like Do Hyun Jin in Kill It. I guess killing off the whole Taskforce Agila was the easiest way to deal with it since the players are mostly non-action stars.
