Alliance Of Complaining Teachers' Demand For Free Laptop And Internet

Here's a picture of the car rally done by the members of Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) though I prefer to call them members of Alliance of Not Concerned Teachers. Alternatively, ACT can also mean Alliance of Complaining Teachers. It's really something that the members of ACT demand for laptop and Internet allowance for EVERY TEACHER. This really shows the typical palamunin culture in the Philippines now, doesn't it? They want laptops and Internet allowance but they go against what could've given them more affordable laptops and Internet allowance namely foreign direct investments or FDI.

One of its members Antonio Tinio has been going against economic liberalization. His reasons? Well, he obviously hates competition because losers hate it. Ironically, Tinio who is against economic liberalization loves the International Clown Court and wants the Philippines to stay. So what's it going to be Tinio? Why support the ICC if you are against foreign investors? This should be a real case of inconsistency on the part of Tinio himself. Members of ACT themselves are also protesting against the plan for economic liberalization.

The idea of the government having to supply every teacher in the Philippines with a laptop and Internet allowance is suicide. As if the debt incurred during the COVID-19 isn't bad enough - members of ACT are showing how stupid they are by now asking the government to spend for every teacher. How much does each laptop cost and how do you think PHP 1,500.00 Internet allowance is enough? How many Filipinos are working as teachers in the Philippines? With that in mind, the government might incur millions of pesos worth of expenditure while it's fighting against the COVID-19 aka the Legacy Virus. I'm wondering are they expecting the government to magically let them have laptops and Internet allowances like a fairy? If they ever do get their free laptops and Internet service then they will eventually start getting mad why national debt incurred even higher than it already started during the COVID-19 crisis. What do you expect from people who only know how to spend but not how to earn? They're so used to free stuff or getting free money that they have no idea how much money is used so they can get items that they enjoy.

Economic liberalization could've solved this problem yet they don't want it. Free markets would allow the legal minimum wage to increase because companies can afford them. Filipino businesses that would grab the opportunity from FDIs such as the supplying of raw materials can eventually grow. If the minimum wage increases then don't you think teachers can actually afford a laptop and Internet allowance? If the Philippines liberated its economy way back in 1986 after the Marcos years then yes. The Marcos Years couldn't pay back the debts because it was very much against FDI. The Cory Years couldn't pay back the debt too because it was very much against FDI. Corazon C. Aquino herself was pretty much just a dupe who could've taken pointers from Lee Kuan Yew. Instead, she chose not to probably to please her peers. Also, she could've been better as the Head of State while Fidel V. Ramos could've served as the prime minister of the Philippines after the Marcos Years ended.

Unfortunately, they're reaping what they've sown. It's the problem of the decades-long problem of Filipinos fighting against reforms that could've benefited them. They just kept making excuses such as foreign investors will ruin the country, parliamentary means people will stay forever in office, or federalism will give rise to warlords. Now, members of ACT can savor their stupidity when the government can't magically give them what they want!
