Why ADMU Freedom Wall's Proposal To Remove John Gokongwei's Name From Its School Of Management Is Really Stupid

Is it me or is partisan politics REALLY the thing today huh? Get Real Pundit now has revealed that apparently - Ateneo De Manila (ADMU) Freedom Wall wants to REMOVE the late John Gokongwei from the school of management. What's the reason? The reasons will probably shock you and it has to be VERY PETTY as you will see below...

Yup, it all has to do with the Gokongwei clan doing a fist bump with President Rodrigo R. Duterte himself. This makes me LMAO thinking about how petty the ADMU Freedom Wall is. Look, I can understand if the ADMU Freedom Wall dislikes President Duterte and presumably prefers Noynoy Aquino over him. So what if they did a fist sign with President Duterte? So what if President Duterte posed with them because he was attending the wake of an important Filipino capitalist? Whether they like it or not - you have Fr. Jose Ramon S. Villarin SJ has issued his condolences. Hopefully, Fr. Villarin will NOT give in to this stupid demand.

Why would I dare say that it's really stupid to remove Gokongwei's name from the School of Management? Let's consider the contributions that he had in the world of business. Why should we let something as trivial as political views affect why his name should be removed. I don't agree with everything Gokongwei posts. Some people who don't agree with shifting to federal-parliamentary (such as that stupid 4Ps-obsessed old man) still think that the need to remove excessive restrictions is necessary for progress. Gokongwei has plenty of life lessons that Filipinos can learn from him. If their only reason is that they dislike President Duterte (and until now, they can't even prove their claims of a dictatorship) then it's utterly childish.

This isn't a call for Ateneans to be Duterte supporters. I have already withdrawn from Solid DDS to simply supporting whatever good the president does but criticize him for the bad. The problem is that the ADMU Freedom Wall is letting politics get into the way of their decisions. I even wonder who will they replace Gokongwei with? Would they want his name to be replaced with well Hilario Davide who is NOT a businessman? What about the name of the Lopezes and honestly ABS-CBN is more of a model for commercialism than capitalism. ABS-CBN and its associates aren't very well-known to embrace competition while Gokongwei did. Either way, I pray that ADMU Freedom Wall's decision will be dismissed as an impractical decision.
