The Dilawans Can Only Rise From The Grave By Supporting And Advocating Genuine Socio-Economic Reforms

The demise of the Liberal Party's significance was because of this -- they FAILED to give any support for genuine socio-economic reforms. There's nothing wrong with criticizing President Duterte but the problem lies with their lack of giving better alternatives. Do you remember the whole Marawi criticism done by Chel Diokno? Diokno could've done better not just by raising the issue but also by giving better alternatives to get the rehabilitation project done. Then you have the #OtsoDiretso who dared President Duterte to fulfill his hyperbole -- did they forget that Noynoy Aquino also has a hyperbole to fulfill? Worse, Bam Aquino, Florin Hilbay, and Mar Roxas have gone as far as to throw their once brilliant minds out of the window long ago. Just imagine how their education could've helped Filipinos. Instead, Bam, Hilbay, and Roxas have been too focused on band-aid solutions when they are supposedly capable of giving better solutions.

What do the Dilawans need to do? They really need to JUNK THE 1987 CONSTITUTION FOREVER if they want to remain relevant. It's already an outdated operating system for the Philippines. It's just like if you're still using Windows 95 when it's 2019 then you need to get a new PC and a new operating system. They need to be more focused on making an improved constitution. They need to consider making a relevant Opposition -- which is hardly exists in the presidential system. They need to stop opposing the need for constitutional reform. If there's any reason why Noynoy improved the economy (according to the Asian Correspondent) -- it's because he made important 29 economic reforms concerning foreign direct investors. Noynoy could have done a better job though if he chose to completely abolish unreasonable restrictions on foreign investors. Instead, he was probably giving in to peer pressure which resulted in hampering whatever potential he had.

The Dilawans should start focusing on writing a better, more updated constitution than just oppose and oppose without understanding what they are opposing. The anti-charter change rally was one of the biggest disservices they have done. Now, word has come out about the need for constitutional reform and they are outdated about it. It doesn't matter how highly educated they are because learning never stops in schools. It's all about getting updated. Not even a graduate or doctoral degree teaches anyone that one needs to know about life. It's all because new information is published every day. A history book dated in the 2000s doesn't contain information on history that happens in the 2010s. Today's news is tomorrow's history. They need to oppose only when relevant and not to oppose for the sake of opposing.

What they need to do is to see how the parliamentary system gives more voices to the minority. The parliamentary system has the minority bloc to scrutinize the majority bloc. The majority wins but not without a price -- the minority is given the task to scrutinize the majority and give better alternatives. They need to see how federalism can help the Philippines have a more even distribution of development like Malaysia in contrast to other unitary developed countries like Japan, China, and Indonesia. They need to see how the parliamentary system has better politics which makes it possible to create leaders like Mahathir Mohammad and Lee Kuan Yew. While it's still possible to make amendments within the 1987 Constitution (such as forever throwing away 60/40 altogether) but we need a more, updated constitution. It may be more expensive but the results may be better in the long run.
