IBC-13 Should Focus On Airing NEWER Anime And Tokusatsu

I grew up watching IBC-13 but I admit there's really me bitching about the stupidity of the network and how it handled airing Tokusatsu during my childhood to teenage years. How badly was it handled? I could remember a couple of stuff that went on -- shows aired FOR YEARS and when did we get the ending? Hardly! I even had to watch the Kamen Rider BLACK fansubs just to see how it ended! Bioman's English dub did have its ending though I never saw it on IBC-13. Then we do have shows that NEVER went past the first half in its airing such as Turboranger and Solbrain. Then Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Quest (forgot which season), Time Quest, Tonde Burin (Super Boink), etc. all went ON AND ON without showing us the ending! WTF IBC-13?!

What should be their plan of sustainability? Air NEWER shows IBC-13 because all the 90s children have grown up already! I may not like everything new school, I don't like newer Super Sentai as the ones I have grown up with (while ironically I prefer new school Kamen Rider over the Showa era Riders), ABC-5 (before becoming TV-5) managed to become sustainable for some time by actually getting new shows and they did show us the ending. For instance, Jetman is the first Super Sentai series where I first saw its finale and I also saw Janperson's final episode in ABC-5 as well. Then we have TV-5 getting newer Tokusatsu. Who can remember them actually airing Kamen Rider Blade and Kamen Rider Hibiki? GMA-7 also aired Kamen Rider Kabuto and Kamen Rider Faiz during Saturday mornings. Hopefully, we don't get GMA-7 airing Kamen Rider Drive dubbed by the cast of Tsuperhero or Kyuranger dubbed by Zaido cast members. Okay, I don't like the bad dubbing but you get it -- it's all about getting newer shows!

Why is re-airing the old school shows in this day and age a BAD IDEA for sustainability? There's the generation gap issues. Just acknowledging the fact that Ryosuke Kaizu (Kazunori Inaba) is old enough to be my father (26 years gap) AND that he's turning 60 this year makes me wonder, "Will newer generation want to watch Maskman?!" Maybe, some children will still want to watch some things last decade such as Super Sentai series from Gaoranger to Goseiger or maybe get those from the 2010s era such as Gokaiger up to Lupinranger vs. Patranger. The oldest they should go is 2000 for now which I'd suggest they air Dekaranger, Boukenger, Shinkenger, Gokaiger, Gaoranger, Hurricanger and Abaranger. Though I'd suggest Kyuranger and Lupinranger vs. Patranger should be their top priority for better, newer shows.

What do you think?

At huwag kalimutan na IBC 13 is starting it again from scratch at on the way na sila sa privatization (since napabayaan masyado ng gobyerno since na-sequestered ang IBC in 1986), so from now on old animes muna ang palabas muna. Kung na-private na ang IBC 13, i'm sure mag-eere din sila ng bagong anime shows.

  2. I agree. ABS-CBN has the worst throwbacks like Princess Sarah, Prince Cedie and The Trapp Family Singers and a couple of bad Power Rangers seasons like Super Megaforce that makes Gokaiger fan, a utterly disappointment due to have that season was first aired on Cartoon Network in the Philippines. If IBC 13 would aired their Super Sentai counterparts that based on the PR seasons aired on Yey!, that would be happy. Also, they would also aired later Kamen Rider and Ultraman seasons as well instead.
