Lugawan Ni Leni Won't Last Long Under A Parliamentary System

It's really amazing how somebody could say that a huge amount of the campaign funds came from Leni Loud Robredo's selling of lugaw or porridge. This would be something to think about how can selling porridge earn so much revenue within the campaign period. PHP 402 Million return in just a short month from selling lugaw is just preposterous. I love to eat porridge and perhaps my favorites are from Lugaw Ni Bossing, Chowking and Goto King. I usually eat it for a snack or a quick lunch. None of those lugaw I ate are priced high considering that the materials used aren't expensive. It's a nice, lower price meal which should even put the whole scrutiny against her claims.

You can consider how preposterous it is to say that selling porridge would give you that much revenue in such a short amount of time. Successful businesses had to strive one way or another especially with expenses such as payment for innovation (which requires plenty of research and experimentation plus you should expect some drawbacks) advertising, utilities and supplies. Also, they had to make an extra mile to get their businesses known before more people entered into their businesses. Also, there's a lot of hurdles to go with making your business open for franchising such as development costs and finding the right connections. So again, how did Leni Loud's lugawan become so successful in such a short amount of time?

So how would be scrutinized under a parliamentary system? The problem of the presidential system is that the president and vice president is their lack of interaction with elected senators. In the parliamentary system, the senators are there together with the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and the various ministers of various department together with Opposition Leader, Deputy Opposition Leader and their shadow ministers. This would mean that there would be frequent grilling than when we just have the office of both president and vice president.

Deputy Prime Minister Leni Loud will have to defend her claims in front of the whole parliament. She will have to explain right in front of the whole parliament with how can she make PHP 50,000.00 a day. This would really be a huge grilling especially if the Deputy Opposition Leader (take your pick) will eventually ask for her financial statements such as the Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) with not just the Lugawan Ni Leni but all of them. This would mean more scrutiny that would end up uncovering her other sources of income. Just imagine how the whole parliament could soon get rid of her via a vote of no confidence.
