It's indeed true that the Dilawans are indeed diminishing in numbers. What some idiots from other non-Yellows fail to realize is the much bigger picture -- why do you think the Dilawans managed to exist in the first place? The argument that you should just change the people but not the system and that Filipinos must "evolve with the 1987 Constitution" because there's supposedly hundreds of years experience in one and zero in the other other is just stupid. It's because of the stupid 1987 Constitution's popularity-based, crony-driven economy that allowed the Dilawans to have their dominance for three decades to start with!
The Dilawans are but a symptom or their presence shows us that the current Philippine system of governance is really defective. Do you think the crony capitalism of the 1987 Constitution could have existed WITHOUT said framework? We've had the 1973 Constitution under Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. and the 1987 Constitution under the Dilawans. Yet today, the 1987 Constitution is only slipping away from the hands of the Dilawans which is not a good sign. It should slip out of their hands and into the trash bin where it should belong but why is it that some people still insist that the problem lies with the Dilawans than the constitution that ALLOWED the mess to start with in the first place? That means even if Noynoy Aquino and his friends were all executed by firing squad or died of some other causes (ex. buried in a rubble or died of an epidemic) -- the problem of stupid politics, cronyism and the like will still continue even without the Dilawans. A new party can arise and it doesn't matter what color it is -- as long as the same stupid system exists then the Dilawans will just be succeeded by people who are no better than they are.
It doesn't matter really if Dilawan senators got knocked out into the minority backseat if the same stupid system that allowed them to take their seats still exist. One must consider the fact that having a Senate president like Tito Sotto can be just as disadvantageous as having Franklin Drilon in the same seat. Both of them have zero competency to lead the Philippine Senate. Think for once -- isn't his libel provision for the cybercrime law just as stupid as Dilawans who want to sue their critics for "defamation"? It's only about changing people where competent people are limited and incompetent people have their seats of power. It's really disgusting how one should think that the problem is exclusively with the Dilawans -- never mind that the Dilawans and their rival political parties do have common enemies such as communist insurgents or other corrupt politicians who just want power.
It's time to think logically. The real problem is the system that governs the Philippines. Do you want to lessen the chances of having similar problems such as the Marcoses and the Aquinos? Then you must replace the defective system with a newer, effective one that will no longer allow stupidities such as the Dilawans to exist. No system change then same old problem will exist under new personalities even if all the Dilawans will die today.
