IBC-13's Plan To Re-Air Classic Anime (And Possibly Classic Toku) Is Just Getting Stuck In The Past

I remembered IBC-13 as part of my childhood but right now -- it really makes me wonder if the network has ruined my childhood. Who can remember the Toku throwback during the late 90s and the early 2000s? I could remember IBC-13 airing several Tagalog-dubbed and Filipino-English-dubbed shows such as Time Quest, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bioman, Voltes V, Super Boink, Maskman, Jiban, Turboranger (which sadly never got past the 31st episode where Yamimaru called out to Ragorn), Kamen Rider Black, Machineman and Shaider as far as my memory allows me to remember. Now it's time to consider the plan to re-air classic Anime titles is just WTF!

Re-air classic Anime titles? They'd probably have to complete with Netflix that will be giving fans good English dubs or good English subtitles! Also, trying to re-air classic Anime titles will just remind me of Hero TV -- the network died from a lack of diversification. It's already 2019 and that means this decade is nearly coming to an end. The 2020s era is coming soon and yet they just want to re-air CLASSIC ANIME? Sure, I may usually prefer classic old school shows that I grew up with (while enjoying new school shows to a certain extent) but WTF -- can't they find newer shows to air?!

There's still a variety of shows that they could at least try airing -- though I'm getting wary at how Telesuccess Productions does its dubbing with lots of inaccuracy and really bad dubbing! They could have gone for newer shows or the most classic they can go would be the 2000s period such as airing Heisei era Kamen Rider shows, maybe air Shinkenger, Dekaranger and Boukenger. Maybe they could try airing Kamen Rider Drive (as long as the cast of Tsuperhero isn't dubbing it), Kyuranger or Lupinranger vs. Patranger. Instead, they just want to re-air classic Anime which makes me wonder how many people still want to watch these shows anyway? All the 90s children have grown up. If they have children I doubt it their children will watch it!

IBC-13 is that all you can think of doing to survive in this digital age or maybe, space age?

  1. I have this idea though: they should make a "Throwback Thursdays" kind of schedule dedicated to it, while airing new anime and live-action series.
