Filipino Communism Is Dying From Obsolete, Aging Economic Ideals

Rigoberto Tiglao's latest expose is called "The Communist Party is dying of old age". I can't help but laugh at the truth that many of the commies are actually that old. The founder of the New People's Army (NPA) namely Jose Maria Sison is 82 and his wife Julie De Lima is also more or less the same age. However, I don't want to focus on the aging part. Toady Casino is hardly a senior citizen since he's only 52. However, Neri Colmenares is 61 years old. Satur Ocampo is 82 years old. Though, I would like to address that it's not just the aging problem but also the problem of economic illiteracy. Lately, it seems that Filipino communists are actually buying into the lies they propagated for years. They were propagating ideals against capitalism for 52 years. Now, their cause is falling apart because people are seeing that the very economic ideals they promote are GOOD AS OBSOLETE.

The 1970s to 1980s should've been a good start to see why Filipino communism would FAIL in its RATHER TEDIOUS armed struggle

The history of China with Deng Xiaoping was that he introduced what was called "Communism with Chinese Characteristics". If any man brought a real Great Leap Forward to progress - it was Deng and not Mao Zedong. The Filipino communists are still holding to Maoism while they failed to study Mao's Art of War book. Mao's Art of War was derived from the Chinese military genius Sun Tzu. They could've remembered one of Sun's 36 strategies is to gain important allies. China could've been an important ally in the 52 years FAILED armed struggle. Sison and his wife Julie could've flown off to China and ask for asylum from Deng. They could've learned Deng's legacy. Instead, Sison renounced Deng while hypocritically hiding in the Netherlands.

China was in FAR WORSE shape than the post-Marcos Philippines. I'm no Marcos apologist like those guys at Get Real Philippines, especially the ever-clueless Benign0. China was even more buried in debt. Deng's takeover was basically a bootstrap for Chinese communism. Deng went to the U.S. and told them, "China is open for business." Deng developed a mindset that it didn't matter if the cat was white or black as long it caught mice. It was like saying that he didn't care if the steel was British or Chinese - as long as it provided for the modernization of Communist China. Deng's legacy managed to get China's treasury back faster than the Philippines could.

The same went for Communist Vietnam. Doi Moi was introduced in 1986. Vietnam also suffered many casualties such as the Vietnam War. However, the power of Doi Moi managed to create the economic growth of yet another communist country. Vietnam saw that their state to be glorious needed economic growth. Doi Moi became another headstart as to why COMMUNIST Vietnam did better than the Philippines. The continuation of Doi Moi is also another reason why Vietnam is doing well with COVID-19. Like China, Vietnam opened its doors to the world for business.

However, Filipino communism decided to stick with Maoist principles. They decided to keep promoting anti-capitalist ideals. They still continued to propagate such stupidity. However, they ironically hate capitalism but they sure love its products. It can be observed how the NPA members have been using MAC Pros and iPhones to spread their propaganda. What's funnier is that they oppose Chinese investments which could've helped them win their armed struggle years ago.

The digital age would now easily provide greater materials about history and economics

I feel that the Filipino communists underestimated the power of the digital age. Did the older members become so senile or so arrogant they think younger people can't get access to older information unavailable before? Just because someone is older doesn't mean someone is wiser. A wise old person spent one's youth gathering knowledge and learning new stuff. A foolish old person is one who either spent one's youth in reckless stupidity or let their own youthful achievements prevent them from learning new stuff as they grew older. Some young people really did their best to preserve the writings of the old. They used whatever new technology was available to make sure that the knowledge of the old went to the next generation of the young. Today, we do have access to digital copies of very old writings such as historical records, scientific journals, and any kind of literature. Modernization is really key in preserving the old knowledge and creating something new from that old knowledge.

Filipino communists have been trying to tell people to study history. Who can forget the meme of Heneral Lunatic (actually Carlos Zarate) when he says we should study history? Filipino communists are prone to saying that it was through national self-industrialization that first-world countries came to be. However, they are yet to test that idea on an UNCHARTED ISLAND. They tell us to study history but THEIR version of "history". Today, the Internet can be a source of misinformation but it also gives us real information. Academic websites, medical websites, business websites, and the like are now widely available. Digital streaming services like Netflix for a start will also historical documentaries. I remembered watching Hitler Circle of Evil which also revealed that Adolf Hitler was a protectionist freak. The power of the digital age is indeed amazing as to how I could enjoy both older and newer shows and make a better comparison.

Maybe, not so many heard of the book From Third World to First by Lee Kuan Yew. You may now buy it at Amazon or any shopping service. You might even find interesting economic textbooks on Google play such as The Singapore Story and download it for a fee. Personally, I still prefer to buy the paperback since it's less stressful and more relaxing to read ANYTHING in paperback format. The history of Singapore will tell you that Singapore didn't self-industrialize. The book Deng Xiaoping: The Man Who Made Modern China is also available on Google play. These books would be instrumental in proving the economic ideals of Philippine communism obsolete.

I even wonder did the Filipino communists think they own the Internet in the Philippines? I guess that's why, FOR DECADES, they're opposed to economic liberalization. It's not just about their love for romanticizing the plights of the poor. It's also because less Internet accessibility means more people can be misled by their ideals. However, Filipinos working abroad can also gain much new information as to why the countries they're conquering ahem working for got progressive. Some OFWs would soon tell the tale of the first-world countries and their progress due to FDI. I guess that's why now they're doing "fact-checking" with CRappler and PERA Files. They want that truth to remain covered. Yet, the ideals they promote are becoming obsolete. The Internet age is already showing historical facts that defeat their historical revisionism.

Are they now victims of their own lies?

Maybe yes, maybe no. Sooner or later, certain people will believe their own lies. You can imagine that maybe, they're already believing that cash dole-outs (such as how IBON Foundation would want us to believe) are better than economic liberalization. Maybe, you really have them believing the lie that their own stupid ideals can be realized. Some of these stupid ideals they want are like the recent demand for PHP 10,000 of ayuda per month, they keep begging for free stuff from the government in the midst of COVID-19 expenditures, or how they still espouse the now-DEBUNKED self-industrialization theory.

I'm really thinking that many of the lower-ranked Filipino communists really believe these ideals. Some of them are too lazy to work. It can be observed that people who tend to spend too much tend to think backward with economics. Does a spendthrift person even know how to ECONOMIZE their own money? Most of them tend to just waste money. Is it even economizing money to use whatever salary you have for the week in getting drunk and gambling? Such people are easy targets for communist recruiters. Many of these rallyists actually believe that their cause is possible while their organizers are simply using them as chess pieces.

Though, it's possible that the organizations may be slowly becoming victims of their own lies. It seems that the likes of Colmenares and Casino now believe that FDIs are invaders. Maybe, in their desperation to get more recruits - they repeat the same thing AND they now get hypnotized by their own lies. Maybe, that may explain why some of these organizers really talk like they believe their ideologies. Either it's impressive acting skills or they now believe their ideologies. I can't be too sure but that's just a hunch.

The evidence of the dying is that there are now MORE FLIES than people attending their rallies

Flies are a symbol of death and their maggots are recyclers. We'd be too occupied with dead bodies without them. Flies start hatching their eggs on dead carcasses which would consume them. A fly is still a disease carrier but they're nature's recyclers. They are also an indicator that the place has rotting garbage or is not well-maintained. A restaurant full of flies or a marketplace full of flies is an indicator of poor sanitary conditions. The truth is also that there's the expression that when the place is "naglangaw" or filled with flies - it indicates something's not right. Now, it would be time to really call those rallies organized by Filipino are naglangaw.

A study of the history of the rallies organized by them. For example, the call for UP Students to have a walkout really ended up in a CRASH. It was also verified by CNN Philippines that the walkouts against the Duterte Administration were ONLY HUNDREDS. I even remembered I wrote a post that asked if those rallyists are having imaginary friends. It could be said that there are more flies than rallyists. They sure leave the place dirty. Did they do it on purpose so there will be flies to join them? Did they really think that people will always be at their side? That's the problem with relying on the majority - public opinion changes rather fast. Besides, a well-informed public can be dangerous. They probably felt the majority will always be with them. However, a significant minority yesterday may have become that significant majority today.

However, now's not the time to get complacent. People fighting for constitutional reform should continue pushing for it. Filipino communism needs to be destroyed with education. Just remember those who fought for constitutional reform were a MINORITY before. Now, it's time for the once-ignored minority to win by pursuing the truth.
