I'm not saying that the Opposition should just disappear and there shouldn't be one. My problem with the "Opposition" right now is that they don't offer solutions - only complaints! Risa Hontiveros right now has made her latest prattle which is only half-true. I do agree with her that proper safeguards are indeed necessary but WTF - she wants to give pasaways a free pass? It's really no surprise she was part of the wedding of Jover Laurio's wedding. After all, Jover of Pignoy Ako Blog is obviously a pasaway herself. Her most recent statement really has me asking me now, "Can Risa Hontiveros survive the weekly question hour?"
People who I've put into the test are Leni Loud Robredo imagined as the Deputy Prime Minister, Sarah Elgago, and Antonio Trillanes IV who could be the worst opposition leader you can ask for. Now, it's really time to grill Risa with the weekly question hour scenario. Let's have our setup where the Government is led by PDP Laban and the Opposition is led by the Liberal Party.

This setup would obviously put Hontiveros on the Opposition side. Every discussion between PDP-Laban and the Liberal Party is LIVE. The local media and the newspapers must publish every last detail. That means the side of both PDP-Laban and the Liberal Party will be heard. Can you imagine how Risa herself will do if she said that the 30,000 increase in COVID-19 cases can't be attributed to the pasaways during an important discussion? The whole discussion of the parliamentary is on how to deal with proper correct measures and all she can do is want to give the pasaways a free pass?
I could imagine the whole debate going sour. Maybe, it would result in either her own party grilling her or the Government grilling her. It's because both sides are accountable to themselves and each other. That is, a parliamentary system would've kicked out Koko Pimentel for violating protocol. The topic is how to prepare proper protocols and the apprehending of pasaways. A good system is needed to apprehend pasaways. Just imagine if both PDP-Laban and the Liberal Party have been so busy preparing new guidelines to reduce the spread then Hontiveros decides to say the stupidest thing she's said about pasaways.
Chances are maybe both Opposition Leader Noynoy Aquino and Deputy Oppostion Leader Leni Loud Robredo will facepalm. Chances are maybe even members of #OtsoDiretso at the parliament will hiss. The chances are PDP-Laban members will all be hissing. Audiences will really be hissing and booing at Hontiveros. The Liberal Party must either vote her out or risk losing their credibility as a whole. She would be kicked out by a vote of no confidence at the end of the day.
