I don't think this is a matter of economic ignorance. Rather, this seems to be more of a pressing issue of INTELLECTUAL DISHONESTY on the part of Africa. For one, it's getting more obvious that the Filipino communist groups (such as Bayad Muna and Migraine International) aren't really nationalists but selfish people who only want more power. Another thing that may be getting more obvious is that the Filipino communists are against economic liberalization is because they LOVE to romanticize and politicize poverty. It's all about a power struggle. Maoist China had almost everyone starve to death like Mao Zedong lived luxuriously with his cronies. Kim Jung Un manages to live a luxurious life at the expense of North Koreans. If more power had better job opportunities then they will have much fewer people to manipulate. Yes, they're contradicting themselves can be proof that all these people want is POWER and MORE POWER.
This is what I think is going on - Africa is a victim of his own arrogance. I guess he wants to insist on his blunder because he has a degree from the London School of Economics and so and so doesn't. Then again it doesn't mean that you graduated from a very difficult-to-enter school that you're not a fool. He probably thinks that people will believe his lies because of his curriculum vitae. He's probably still telling people, "Who are you going to believe? A person who didn't graduate from a prestigious university or me who graduated from one?" I guess, in his mind, people should believe his lies because he graduated from the London School of Economics. The same goes for many of the Filipino communists - many of them are highly-educated but promote lies that can be refuted by COMMON SENSE.
It doesn't take a degree in economics from the University of the Philippines (UP) or the London School of Economics to understand BASIC ECONOMICS, Today, we can now access the histories of first-world countries that they didn't self-industrialize as the dishonest commies would want us to believe. Today, one can read about the history of China under Mao and why it was a GREAT LEAP FORWARD TO FAILURE. Besides, one can always be learned and still be a fool. Money can buy an education but not wisdom and Africa is proof of that.
