I remembered writing about three (non-existent, for joke purposes only) variations of the COVID-19 namely Noynoy-COVID-19, Trillanes-COVID-19, and 4Ps-COVID-19. Each one of them displays the Pinoy hardheadedness syndrome. In the case of Trillanes-COVID-19 Worse than COVID-19 is a new variation of the swine flu found only in the Philippines named the Jover Swine Flu. Please note that this is a HUMOR post meant to poke fun at the reality of Jover Laurio. I think Jover herself is already good as politicizing the COVID-19 outbreak.
Am I disgusted that Jover criticizes President Rodrigo R. Duterte? If she criticizes him with improvement in mind then I don't mind. My issue with the current opposition is their failure to give useful alternatives. Pignoy Ako Blog has EVERY RIGHT to be on the side of the opposition. She has the right to be (like Karen Davila) to be critical of Duterte. Right now, I'm also critical of both the administration and the opposition for their shortcomings. Duterte should consider joining forces with Taiwan and South Korea instead of China. The problem with Jover is that she tends to think that if it's Duterte (or any non-Yellow) then it must be wrong and that only the yellows are right. Her claim to be non-partisan is good as BS. Remember her Yellow-infested wedding? Lately, her posts are more focused on glorifying Vice President Leni Loud Robredo (who might be boosting her too) and seems to ignore whatever good Duterte has done.
The Philippines may be experiencing what I'd dub as the "Jover Laurio Swine Flu". Jover is called a pig due to her obesity. This isn't about fat-shaming. Some fat and ugly people I know are decent citizens. Unfortunately, Jover doesn't seem to fit in that category. I even think that her so-called stroke is already questionable enough due to her getting served HUMBA and FRIED CHICKEN. Take note that there's no pathogen dubbed as the Jover Laurio Swine Flu. I'd say this is an outbreak but it's not caused by a pathogen. Rather, it's a state of mind or an EMOTIONAL flu.
What are the signs that a person has Jover Laurio Swine Flu? Consider the people who read Pignoy Ako Blog and believe everything it says. You can consider that Maria Ressa (who was also a sponsor during the swine wedding) has Jover Laurio Swine Flu. Well-researched? Ressa as a longtime journalist and CEO of Rappler should know better than to praise such a blog as "well-researched". You can also consider people who distribute Pignoy Ako Blog as a "source of reliable truth" because of the rather sub-standard naming her as "Filipino of the Year" by the Inquirer. These people would keep sharing the posts as if they are true and non-partisan. You can see the anti-reform advocates who use Pignoy Ako Blog as a source of "reliable" information. Not to mention, their only spectrum is the color yellow of the Liberal Party of the Philippines. Everyone else doesn't matter to them. Worse, they only choose to criticize if it benefits them and not the Filipino people.
How can the Jover Laurio Swine Flu's curve be flattened? Best advice is SOCIAL DISTANCING (both physical and digital) from the supporters of Pignoy Ako Blog. Avoid arguing with them directly by any means. Shoot Jover's arguments if you want but from a distance. Let the offended Jover fans find your article and bash it but IGNORE them. Also, don't accept comments that praise her or now's a good time to MODERATE comments. It may also mean not accepting comments simply known as Anonymous where they want bloggers to unmask themselves but they can't. Also, AVOID arguing at Pignoy Ako Blog COMPLETELY even if you're just using a Facebook page to argue with the staff and its supporters. That way, you can help curb the Jover Laurio Swine Flu pandemic.
