President Marbobo Roxas X Vice President Antonio Trollanes = Daang Matuwid Towards Goodbye Philippines

It's amazing how some people want to make heroes out of these two clowns. Some people wished that Marbobo Roxas won the presidency whether by fair rule or by cheating. Maybe others wished that Antonio Trollanes were the vice president. Others even think that Trollanes himself is a revolutionary hero never mind that it doesn't take a political analyst to know that he's a waste of money.  So let's just assume what if both Marbobo and Trollanes are both the current president and vice president of the Philippines. Maybe we'll have a comedic oath-taking inauguration of both Marbobo and Trollanes. But that's just the beginning of a continuous disaster. Leni Loud may already be bad enough but I wonder if Trollanes should even be worse.

What could be the first few acts that Dumb and Dumber (take your pick you's Dumb and who's Dumber) as president and vice president could do? I think President Marbobo and Vice President Trollanes would start appointing even more incompetent and corrupt people into position. They might think of appointing the incompetent ACT lawyer Antonio Tinio as Justice Secretary. Maybe Samuel Pagdilao may replace Alan LM Impurisima as the new PNP Chief. Maybe they might work towards appointing dumb celebrities into government positions. I think President Marbobo would make Kris Aquino DSWD Secretary and Vice President Trollanes would make Agot Isidro as BOC Chief.

I thought of the events that happened since President Rodrigo R. Duterte sat in power. Do you remember the slaying of Jee Ick Joo at a PNP office? Have you ever noticed the current problem of the Matae terrorist crisis in Mindanao? Considering how President Marbobo handled the Tacloban problem he would really neglect the situation or he could do the absurd by sending Vice President Trollanes to Marawi. Considering how "competent" Vice President Trollanes was with his planned coup during the Arroyo administration would mean the end of Marawi. Marbobo may end up declaring martial law and let Vice President Trollanes handle it. Martial law means military intervention but with Vice President Trollanes heading operations they might end up destroying Mindanao instead of saving it from the Matae terrorists. They would also continue to make sure Commission on Human Rights only defends the rights of people who could pay and not those who need their rights defended. They could also end up abolishing the Public Attorney's Office if ever Atty. Persida V. Rueda-Acosta would criticize their stupidity.

You could think about how foreign policies with economics and tourism would be in total destruction. Do you remember when Marbobo ignores the need for foreign investments to make the country prosperous? Both of them can't use David Guerrero's slogan to invite foreign investors when they continue to insist in economic protectionism. I could think how tourism in the Philippines could also die no thanks to these two. If they can't keep peace and order properly then how in the world would you think that foreigners would want to visit the Philippines? They could also end up deciding to remove the rights of Filipinos to bring home imported media which in turn would cause foreigners to snob any chances that any media made by Filipinos will be known abroad. Destroying any relation with give and take is going to be bad for the Philippines' economy. 

Both clowns may not only cause the end of the Philippines but maybe other countries as well. You may ask how that could happen since the Philippines doesn't have the firepower comparable to that of its more developed neighboring countries. If you're asking that then my answer is that they could end up screwing up negotiations with China. I could imagine that President Marbobo and/or Vice President Trollanes would declare war with China even if the odds of winning are obviously zero. Maybe, their kind of "negotiation skills" will not only make China hate the Philippines but also every other nation. It may mean also goodbye Japan, goodbye Vietnam, goodbye Hong Kong, goodbye Taiwan, goodbye Singapore, goodbye Indonesia and goodbye Malaysia as well as other countries near China should the bully nation launch its full power towards the Philippines no thanks to them.

Just imagining this possibility that thankfully didn't happen should be a good why Constitutional Reform is that important. The current presidential system is based on a popularity contest than a credibility contest. It's sad to say Marbobo's and Trollanes' losses were only because they were losing popularity than credibility. It's stupid to keep saying a huge amount of Filipinos should learn to be competent first before the system can change. On the contrary, it's all about changing the system first before you can expect a massive change among Filipinos. The reason why a lot of Filipinos keep loving incompetence is because the current system encourages it. A competency-based system is what the Philippines need to keep the number of competent Filipinos up and growing in the Philippines.
