What's The Use Of Pasaways Celebrating #EarthDay2022 When They Themselves DON'T CONTRIBUTE To Environmental Preservation?

I'm not saying that we should ignore the current instances of climate change. I fear that both Odette and Yolanda were the results of it. Though, we have presidential candidate Ka Loserdy De Guzman who's part of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice which I believe is among the many CPP-NPA legal fronts aside from Kayabangan Partylist, Alliance of Complaining Teachers, Bayad Muna, Anak ng Bayad, Gagabriela, Anakpatis, Katribu Partylist, and many more. Environmental degradation is a reality that we must face. However, I fear that we tend to bark at the wrong tree. Capitalism in itself is good if applied well. Capitalism is only bad when businessmen ignore ethics all for a profit. Building shopping malls isn't wrong. However, building shopping malls that don't respect environmental laws is wrong. Besides, the late Lee Kuan Yew even talked about greening Singapore.

I gave a thought about the pasaways celebrating Earth Day. I'm not saying that they haven't had some valid points. There are SOME rich businessmen that are just reckless. Some factories fail to pass safety standards and operate via bribery. However, there are also rich businessmen that operate via environmentally friendly means. Accepting investments doesn't mean accepting those that destroy the environment such as Nickelodeon's plans for Palawan last 2017. There are also local investors who are destroying the environment. They have raised some valid points. However, their credibility can shrink when you think about what they do.

It's very easy to see the culture of littering is just one. Littering is a huge source of problems for the community. Sure, one can always bark at factories with factory smoke and dump waste here and there. However, what's the use of getting mad at irresponsible businessmen who don't practice proper disposal if these same people THROW THEIR GARBAGE EVERYWHERE? I went to Boracay for a trip and saw how the place has become a cesspool. So much litter was everywhere. These people throw their garbage just anywhere in the name of freedom. Sure, corporate buildings that throw their waste just anywhere need to be shut down. However, that doesn't mean we should exempt punishment entirely from people who litter. Littering causes problems like drainage clogs and invitations to pests. Tell me how can they have the credibility to talk against improper waste disposal when littering itself is an act of improper waste disposal?

How can one be pro-nature if one is pro-squatter? Squatters are neither humanitarian nor pro-environment. A good example is how squatters have that culture of littering. Please tell me how squatters dumping all sorts of filth into the bodies of water are less wrong than corporations who do it? In short, squatters don't contribute to the preservation of nature either. Besides, squatter areas are so dirty that I don't think they're saving the environment. I don't see them as any lesser evil than the corporations that do improper waste disposal. Chemicals, garbage, human wastes, etc. will all POLLUTE the quality of the drinking water. People drinking the water where garbage is thrown from are bound to GET SICK.

I don't know if I should laugh or get sick at this stupidity. Their credibility is REALLY SHRINKING to new massive levels of low. Besides, it's a good thing that Ka Loserdy De Guzman isn't leading. The Philippines doesn't need a leader like him. I could only laugh to think about how Communist China might win its battle against air pollution. Besides, Chinese history will also tell us that Mao Zedong's Great Leap Forward also caused MASSIVE AIR POLLUTION. The CPP-NPA just adores Mao even if his policies nearly destroyed China. Meanwhile, Deng Xiaoping passed the Environmental Protection Law of 1979 which probably sent litterbugs to concentration camps. These guys have no right to talk about environmental protection because they too, like unethical businessmen, have a fair share of the blame.
