Shifting From Presidential To Parliamentary Will Greatly Lessen The Chances of Another Leni Loud Robredo

As much as I still read Get Real Philippines for ideas but I'm actually baffled at the idea of benign0 who is just as clueless as Benigno Aquino III. It would be time to consider which would be better - making amendments while staying in presidential or shift to parliamentary? Some can argue (such as that 4Ps-obsessed old man) that why don't we just remove the excessive restrictions to Foreign Direct Investors (FDIs) while remaining presidential because of the hundred years argument? Unfortunately, the real problem has to be the SYSTEM and not just the people running the system. Both the system and the people running it are just as important.

Let's consider how in the world Leni Loud Robredo rose into power in the first place. If her husband Jesse Robredo didn't die - I don't think Leni Loud would've gained her spot. You have her supporters voting for her all because of her DEAD HUSBAND than because of her achievements. The baffling part with Get Real Philippines is that it only talks about remaining presidential in regards to Leni Loud herself. I would agree that one weakness is that the vice president should be voted separately for the sake of "check and balance". Hmmm... how would you like it then if we've got President Leni Loud and Vice President Bongbong Marcos after the Duterte-Robredo administration ends? It should be rooted in the fact that presidential systems only base democracy on popularity than credibility.

How would the parliamentary system actually correct the problem of politicians like Leni Loud? It's because the parliamentary system has a more defined majority and minority bloc. The problem with the presidential system is that just where's the defined majority and minority bloc? Tindig Pilipinas isn't even a well-defined opposition. The vice president is currently from the opposition rather than from the government side. The parliament defines the functions of majority bloc and minority bloc. There is also the weekly question hour and the vote of no confidence. A vote of no confidence submits a person to impeachment when the legislative loses confidence in the person's abilities. Right now, Leni Loud's performance is anything but satisfactory. Shouldn't that warrant her to be impeached due to no confidence in her performance? Not if you're in a presidential system, right? The presidential system has to wait until politicians do a crime. However, a parliamentary system's minimum requirement for impeachment is when the legislature loses confidence in the abilities of a member of the parliament.

Are you still fearing that there are no term limits in the parliamentary system? Well, just consider it that a good person can continue having more terms until the parliament loses confidence or such a person gets barred from sitting office. In the case of somebody like Leni Loud in the parliamentary system - she would be barred from holding another term, right?
