Filipino Activist Groups May Consider Hiring Stupid Korean Economist Ha Joon Chang To Be One Of Their Speakers

Facedesk and stupidity to this guy. Ha Joon Chang lives in South Korea -- a country that has benefited from free trade all these years. If anything is causing an outflow of South Korean workers then it's not free trade -- it's exercising a certain degree of lingering protectionism (while free trade prevails) has caused that outflow. So really, what planet does Ha live in anyway?

Here's what Reuters has to say about the current problem of jobless South Koreans:

“South Korea is paying the price for its overprotection of top-tier jobs and education fervor that produced a flood of people wanting only that small number of top jobs,” said Ban Ga-woon, a labor market researcher at state-run Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training.

Obviously, Ha here is really best said "Ha! I ever thought you'd be that stupid! You're an economics graduate and you ignore the basics of supply and demand! You're so stupid not to see the opportunity of regulated free trade where foreigners invest but in return -- they must pay taxes! You only see the threats but not the opportunities. If free trade is evil then why don't you move to North Korea? Your country South Korea progressed for years because of free trade and the only reason why it's having jobless graduates is due to overprotection of top-tier jobs!"

This guy is really what I'd call really stupid or is he a North Korean spy? Either way, I think Filipino activist groups who believe in the stupidity of self-industrialization should invite Ha to be one of their speakers. But again if self-industrialization were real then why are underdeveloped islands still underdeveloped?
