Neri Colmenares "Selling Street Food" Proves How Economic Protectionism Stunts The Growth Of Local Filipino Businesses

Neri Colmenares is finally caught in the act of acting in a script of selling fishballs or whatever street food is there on said cart. We've already seen Bum Aquino selling fishballs so should it be surprising that socialist idiot Colmenares is now selling fishballs too? He lost the 2016 elections as not even endorsement from his super attractive aunt-in-tow (?) Angel Locsin Colmenares could help his campaign. Now he's seen selling some tempura which is really FUNNY at several levels. Yet it also shows one thing that his beloved economic protectionism isn't helping the local small businesses in their evolution. Instead, it's the opposite called devolution!

You can remember how Colmenares keeps whining over and over again about how if the Philippine government lets foreign businesses enter that they will automatically destroy the local business atmosphere. There's also the lie done by his fellow idiots that only foreigners will get rich if you let them do business here in the Philippines. Worse, his fellow mates at Bayan Muna such as Teddy Casino and Satur Ocampo even want to believe in the idea of the "national industry" where they believe that first world countries reached where they are by protecting the small businesses to achieve their goal to become a first world country. However, evidence of that idea being false can be found in the form of underdeveloped islands -- these islands didn't let foreign investors enter into their places and they are still underdeveloped until today. Yet, these idiots still insist that one day through economic protectionism that the Philippines will be a first world country!

How does economic protectionism stunt the growth of local Filipino businesses? You first need to answer the question of, "What do you need for your business to grow?" first. It's not just having a good product but also having customers who have the money to spend. If there's less jobs then there's less customers. Limiting businesses to just "sariling atin" actually limits the supply and demand gap. Filipino businesses aren't only looking for customers -- they themselves are customers too! A businessman is both a seller and a buyer. Businesses avail of services so they can render service to others. However, the whole idea of restricting the Philippines to "sariling atin only" means less choices to have and less customers to choose from. Can you imagine if all the choices you have as a buyer and a seller are limited to but Filipinos? How can you expect that they would expand? With so little choices and so little alternatives then it's only normal for businesses to become spoiled rotten and chances of expanding are very few.

Besides, the oligarchy even became even more powerful because of economic protectionism. Why are cottage industries and other Filipino businesses getting crushed? It's because they have no choice but to bow down to the oligarchy. Does a certain cottage businessman or businesswoman want a website to sell online? Well, he or she is stuck with either Globe or PLDT to sell online unless he or she can afford to pay for better Internet. Then these protectionist loving idiots would blame it on the shopping malls (and John Gokongwei is an advocate of free trade) and real estate businesses to be the end of the small businesses -- never mind that these places could have become places to advertise one's cottage industry! Worse, time will come when the oligarchy will end up forcibly grabbing certain farmlands because the farmers have very little or no chance to grow in a protectionist environment. Going against the  oligarchy while loving protectionism is just like you hate to get sick yet you do activities that get you really sick, get it?
