Kris Aquino Has No Credibility To Talk About Revisionism And Fake News

This is the hypocrisy of the now dethroned, de-crowned former queen of the media Kris Aquino as she's no longer relevant. This is one of the craziest things she's writing -- she's now saying that much of our history is trying to be rewritten and erased by those written by trolls and fake news. This is the problem with the argument. Just because the Marcos Years aren't the golden years of the Philippines doesn't automatically mean that the Aquinos are heroes. It's just like just because a villain kills a villain doesn't make the first villain a hero, get it? 

Fake news? Trolls? Who's kidding who? The Noynoying Years aren't the golden years of the Philippines either. If it's a golden age then it's the golden age of impunity where she got almost absolute power in the media. She could brag about how the Philippines was once the sick man of Asia and it became Asia's next miracle but do you know growth rate isn't exactly the best accurate measure without hard solid facts? It was also during that time that the Philippine mainstream media (especially ABiaS-CBN) kept getting away with the use of fake news and trolls. When Internet organizations such as Get Real Philippines and CoRRECT Philippines started spreading the truth about Noynoy -- she kept getting mad.

In short, how can she can she speak about fake news and trolls when she was making a livelihood out of them? What caused Kris to be popular after 1986 and up until last term? Fake news and later trolls on the Internet. She speaks and everyone listens. It's almost like she has the power to pied piper students out of their target bedtime, school projects and study time to watch Kris TV. People kept watching Kris TV even if many of her claims can be considered preposterous. For many years, people were treating Aquino like royalty because of fake news. People must have thought that EDSA was such a good thing and that the Aquinos restored democracy. The truth is the Aquinos simply strengthened the oligarchy with the help of the 1987 Constitution -- through the use of unitary form of government, economic protectionism and popularity driven elections!

What Kris didn't anticipate is how unreliable majority wins or popularity contests can be. She was once popular but now take a look at her. She's a dethroned media queen. The tide is no longer in favor of the Liberal Party. The reason would be that it's been 30+ years since EDSA 1986 but where is the promised change? Things got even worse after the Marcos Years. Cronyism is still rampant. They just want to keep blaming everything on the Marcoses instead of coming up with feasible solutions. If you think about it Japan was bombed in the 1940s but guess what -- it became a thriving economy in ten years. Taiwan was once a very poor country that just split from Maoist China but today it's a very strong economy. So if the other nations can do it then why can't the Philippines? It's because of poorly thought out economic policies that only gave more power to the cronies!

With that in mind, just think of how most people no longer bought her fake news. She stepped down from ABiaS-CBN to campaign for Mar Roxas and what happened? She really ended up wasting her time campaigning for a candidate whose popularity and credibility was shrinking at the same time. Even her own fellow star in ABiaS-CBN namely Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo criticized Noynoy's cowardice. People were getting sick of her and the majority that once loved her so much, the majority that once chose Kris TV over their studies, the majority that once put her on the throne of the Philippine media have dethroned her from her seat. They were probably getting sick of her nonsense stories that they no longer want her.

I think Kris' reaction where she cries foul reveals this reality. Fake news is only fake news (at least for her kind) when it goes against them but fake news are facts when it's from their side. No, fake news is fake news regardless who spreads it. #FactsMatterPH isn't even really a war against fake news but its quest to dominate it and make their fake news look real. Internet pages like Change Scamming, #SilentNoMorePH, Pinoy Ako Blog, Pepeng Makabayan, Juan Nationalist and Superficial Gazette to name a few are in fact making a livelihood out of fake news and trolls. They are also guilty of revising history textbooks in their favor.

People now know the TRUTH about the Aquinos. It's more than time to let people know what Ninoy Aquino was in fact just another fake hero. It's about time people realize that Corazon Aquino was also a failed replacement. She has no experience whatsoever and they just let her run. Worse, she even pardoned guilty criminals who should have been executed -- such as the Tsinoy who founded the New People's Army namely Jose Maria Sison and Esther Paredes who is Jim Paredes' mother. The day of simple technology is over and we're in the digital-information age. There's already alternatives to people sick of Kris TV and there's nothing she can do about it.
