Buntis Faib Legacy: What Emperor Zambojil, The Boazanian Nobility, And The Failippines Have In Common?

Buntis Faib Legacy did get its overextension by 10 episodes huh? I'm not going to lie and say that it's UNNECESSARILY PAINFUL. Sure, the filming has FINALLY WRAPPED UP but the show hasn't. The recent episodes started to make me remember a certain dead man who kept blaming a certain someone. Emperor Zambojil in Buntis Faib Legacy turns out to be an EVEN BIGGER IDIOT than the original Anime counterpart.

Yesterday's scene had members of the Boazanian nobility approaching Zambojil's court. Beside Zambojil is his mother Contessa (who seems to be an Expy of Honerva from Hyajakuu Golion except she's NO WITCH). Two members of the nobility started to question the Boazanian Pride propaganda. If they were indeed the greatest race in the Universe then why haven't they take over Earth. Zambojil's favorite excuse was to blame Zardoz. One of the nobles did address that Zambojil failed to send proper reinforcements. I would agree with that since sending General Oslak alone wasn't going to do the job. Even worse, General Oslak was tasked to SABOTAGE two of Zardoz' most brilliant plans - two plans that could've allowed Zambojil to finally take over Earth. Zambojil could've killed the Buntis Faib crew. But no, Zambojil simply had to say this out loud, "KAILANGAN HINDI MAGIGING BAYANI SI ZARDOZ SA MATA NG MGA TAO!"

It's obvious Zambojil is a petty person. Zambojil hates Zardoz for this reason - his hatred of his cousin Baron Hrothgar! The moment Hrothgar became a slave - Zambojil spared almost no moment to humiliate his rival. This might remind people of a certain dead man who not only put his predecessor to jail but spared almost no moment to humiliate his predecessor. Zambojil kept taunting Hrothgar when the latter was at the slave pits. Zambojil would later demand Hrothgar's head. Since Zardoz is pretty much a reminder of Hrothgar - Zambojil develops an irrational dislike for Zardos just because of that! Zambojil would rather see Zardoz fail without thinking it'd hurt his reputation. When Zambojil's reputation was hurt - HE BLAMED ZARDOZ! If word came out that he sent Zuhl and later Oslak to sabotage Zardoz then that would totally be the end of him. Zambojil cared more ABOUT HIS REPUTATION than the Boazanian Empire itself. Would've Zardoz won then Zambojil would've had a better edge in his desire to conquer the Universe.

What would the Najme Imperium of Boazan have in common with the Philippines?

Watching it, I felt that Zambojil and the nobility are pretty comparable to Philippine politics. It's not just during the reign of the Dilawan or more importantly, the reign of the Empire of Marcos which was NO PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM. It's very easy to compare Zambojil to the late Emperor Ferdinand Marcos Sr. I even remembered a rumor that General Oslak (Bergan) was dubbed as General Fabian at one point. Favoritism and cronyism were often shown in Buntis Faib Legacy. Some non-horned individuals did get into special ranks but were still treated as either warrior class or working class. I still believe that General Bergan in the Anime was born without horns but became promoted due ot his military and scientific expertise. Apparently, Bergan was a Foil to Lagour (Hrothgar) in the Anime. Also, two Boazanian Beast Knights namely Gardo and Gilligan were supposedly born without horns but were granted the privilege. In the Filipino remake, both Takeo and Arisa were slaves but were granted the privilege to serve as warriors. Heck, even Lagour was granted an offer to serve Zambojil as Minister of Science but the former refused.

During martial law, Marcos Sr. banned Voltes V presumably due to the last final episodes. Some might compare the late Ninoy Aquino to Lagour. What people never expected was that Ninoy's son, Noynoy, would probably become a Lighter and Softer version of Zambojil. Maybe, one can compare Marcos Sr. to Zambojil and Bergan to the late Fabian Ver. Maybe, one can compare the late Danding Cojuangco to General Gururu (Zander). In the reign of Noynoy, although it was nowhere near as brutal as Zambojil's or EVEN the Empire of Marcos, he still nonetheless had the traits of carrying the trope It's Never My Fault. Maybe, one can think that Antonio Trillanes IV is Bergan and Mar Roxas is General Gururu. Voltes V did have a violent revolution on-hand as the Boazanians got fed up with their emperor's ways. From what I heard, Voltes V was loosely inspired by the actual French Revolution. The Philippine government still carries some portion of the Empire of Marcos such as rampant economic protectionism.

Just thinking about Zambojil's Boaanian Pride propaganda in Buntis Faib reminds me of Filipino feeling of racial superiority. One can think about the song "Ako'y Isang Pinoy" or how some Filipinos think that they're the greatest race in the world. Please, any study on anthropology will tell you that Filipino is more of a NATIONALITY THAN A RACE. One can say that most Filipinos are either Malaysian or Indonesian in origin. A study of aboriginal people will tell you that Malaysians and Indonesians have dispersed in several areas throughout Asia. Maybe, one should look at the features and realize that brown skin is more common than you think. Take a look at most Indonesians and Malaysians to see that they look no different than most Filipinos. I remembered meeting a Malaysian Muslim eating at an Arabic restaurant. The waitress spoke in Filipino only for the Malaysian to say, "Sorry, I'm not Filipino." Maybe, one can look at the aboriginal tribes of Taiwan and Japan.

Maybe, one can think of the horned vs. non-horned narrative as well. There was a time in the Philippines when the brown-skinned ones looked down on others. There was even this saying, "Brown is the best race!" This is very funny since not only did some of them act like only Filipinos are lahing kayumanggi. It's also because they've also looked down at OTHER BROWN PEOPLE like those they call Bumbays, Arabos, and other brown-skinned Asians. Maybe, they even make fun of Malaysia and Indonesia - never mind that most Filipinos have descended from there. There was even a time they tell Chinese immigrants and natural-born Filipino-Chinese to "UMUWI SA CHINA." That reminds me of how the horned class treated the non-horned class. Instead of seeking to mutually assimilate, both groups tend to be hostile. I guess that's why the Intramuros Wall was built some time ago because as mayabang as it sounds - the Spanish and the Chinese didn't like each other!

If Filipinos were indeed the most powerful race in the world - why isn't the Philippines the best country in the world? The dream Penoy Empire is nothing more than a deluded fantasy. Conquering other countries via OFWs and Filipino businesses? Please, the age of conquest is over. OFW conquest is nothing more than a spurious myth long debunked. When Filipinos work in another country - they must OBEY THAT COUNTRY'S LAWS. When foreign businesses invest in ANY COUNTRY - they must OBEY THAT COUNTRY's LAWS. Edz Ello certainly didn't conquer Singapore as he thought. OFWs who break the law in their host country can get deported. The so-called imaginary conquest is at best imaginary HUH?
