This is idiotic virtue signaling at so many levels. It's not the gender that made Tsai and Arden good leaders. Sure, women do have certain advantages over men (like being gentler and can handle multitask better) but it's never been the gender. Nobody should be appointed based on gender but ABILITY. Before raising up Tsai and Arden - those who are using their virtue signals in hopes of a Robredo presidency need to understand the two countries first. They need to understand what makes Taiwan and New Zealand so great that allowed two real great women to emerge.
The history of Taiwan was a country once poorer than the Philippines. A study of the economic history of Taiwan will tell us why they beat the Philippines. Taiwan decided to accept foreign direct investments as part of developing its local economy. They didn't possess Carlos P. Garcia's "Filipino First" policy or Mao Zedong's "China First Policy". Instead, Taiwan as the Republic of China decided to focus on capitalism and foreign investments - the same policies that Deng Xiaoping would later adapt into his communist manifesto. Taiwan's embracing a capitalist spirit and having a semi-parliamentary called the Legislative Yuan. A review of Taiwan last year will tell us of its COVID-19 success story. The key points given by its former vice president, Chen Chien Jen, is that capitalism, compliance, and competence allowed them to do better with defeating COVID-19. It's quite different from Robredo refusing to hold the public accountable.
New Zealand is not just a better country because of its leaders. Arden isn't only better than President Rodrigo R. Duterte but also better than Robredo. New Zealand doesn't have a president but a PRIME MINISTER as its chief executive. Try to check the top best countries in the world. Is it a coincidence that all of them are PARLIAMENTARY? No, it's because the parliamentary system has a VERY RIGID system. Parliamentary systems give a more defined role between the Government and the Opposition. Arden is subjected to weekly scrutiny in Parliament. The question is how often are Filipino politicians forced to such scrutiny? If they don't want to shift to parliamentary then there's no use in praising Arden as a powerful woman either.
