Years ago, I remembered writing about how Maria Ressa of Rappler praised Pignoy Ako Blog (PAB) for supposed "good research and documentation. It was before the pandemic and before Ressa herself got HARDtalked by Stephen Sackur. I'm thinking about critics of the CoRRECT Movement saying that it's supposedly "non-scholarly" because of an apparent lack of footnotes. Ressa arrogantly called Ilda Ignacio of Get Real Philippines (GRP) as just another "minor, minor blogger". Yet, most of the same people who are criticizing any movement for constitutional reform (or to at least amend the 1987 Constitution) are ironically endorsing PAB to be well-researched?
I find the whole problem ironic for these reasons. The more I read PAB -- the more I realize that it's just unscholarly prattle. I may not agree with GRP about certain issues (like Benign0's ignorance about economics) but I can agree with how PAB's articles are rather substandard. Most of them are just full of childish mockery yet Ressa considers them well-researched materials? I'm really laughing at how stupid things have become since the dawn of PAB. Having the Inquirer dub Jover as "Filipino of the Year" is just brain-dead stupid. What did Jover do anyway to improve the nation? Did she build hospitals and provide jobs? Did she fight for reforms? None! Yet, she got that award then five COMMUNIST bitches followed.
How credible is Jover Laurio anyway? Jover is nowhere near the late Carlos Celdran. Celdran may have been anti-Duterte but he was for reform. Sure, Celdran made the fatal mistake of wishing President Rodrigo R. Duterte dead (and then died) but he raised many valid points. The fact Jover even invited people over to the UP-Diliman "Mananita" while criticizing PNP Chief Debold Sinas. The UP-Diliman Mananita was led by none other than Renato Reyes Jr. of Bayad Muna. Sure, Sinas' promotion is uncalled for but the mass gatherings at UP were rather irresponsible. Some UP students are disgracing the good students of their alma matter with what they do. Should it be surprising that people like Tony La Vina Loca and Sarah Elgago are allies with Jover?
Jover, in her own admission, considers herself to be just another "ordinaryong mamayanan" or "just another ordinary citizen". I'm really laughing right now at anti-reform people who mock nobody bloggers but love to cite from PAB because it's so self-contradictory.
