Vice President Leni Loud Robredo is willing to become a guinea pig for the COVID-19 vaccine after all. I don't know if I should applaud it or not. What are her motives in willing to become a guinea pig or to get shot by the vaccine? She even said that it's okay to be among the first to get injected. Though I'd like to question her motives (or one might want to question) that she's actually willing to be among the first to get injected with the vaccine.
In the USA, the three ex-presidents William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton, George W. Bush Jr., and Barack Hussein D. Obama willing to take the vaccine publicly. It would be easy to say that maybe, just maybe, Leni Loud has the same motives as Clinton, Bush Jr., and Obama. However, all three of them are now ex-presidents having had used all their term limits. The current lousy 1987 Constitution says that Leni Loud has two options after her term is over. Leni Loud may re-run as vice president or that she may run as president. Apparently, her motives to be among the first to get the COVID-19 vaccine shot might not be the same as Clinton, Bush Jr., and Obama. Instead, she's probably wanting to get the vaccine for votes this 2022. No wonder the anti-reformers are still promoting the lie that the 1987 Constitution is "the best in the world" even when the COVID-19 pandemic already shows otherwise. They think that constitutional reform means the end of elections even when parliamentary countries show otherwise. Yes, parliamentary talks about term extensions but only if the people vote for that said party again or if the said candidate isn't disqualified from running for office.
The problem here isn't Leni Loud becoming among the first to get the COVID-19 vaccine shot. The problem here is if her motive is to get a shot for a vote. Are the Dilawans really politicizing the COVID-19 epidemic? I would say yes they are and it has NOTHING to do with pointing out President Rodrigo R. Duterte's mistakes or giving donations to Angat Buhay. Rather, it all has to do with them putting Duterte down in favor of Leni Loud. It also has to do with their selective outrage getting mad at recently promoted PNP Chief Debold Sinas for his small birthday party while inviting people to attend the UP-Diliman mananita or rally for ABiaS-CBN franchise. I'm not saying Leni Loud shouldn't be allowed to be among the first to get a COVID-19 vaccine shot. Let her take the shot along with other politicians (to avoid any more necropolitics). I don't think Leni Loud would win the elections even if she gets broadcasted being among the first to get shot. However, she should line up with commoners (and also other politicians too) to avoid getting special favors.
Meanwhile, a parliamentary system would completely disallow any "do this and that" for a vote. Instead, the weekly question hour will really give people an idea of which party to vote for and which party not to vote for. Also, people get impeached via a vote of no confidence if ever they fail to gain the confidence of the legislative. Getting a COVID-19 shot for attention will definitely not sit well in the parliament. The best vaccine against epal politicians is the parliamentary system. It's because they'll all be squared out if ever they fail to perform well and not just when they commit a crime.
