DDS VS. Dilawan Proves Philippines Is MORE THAN READY To Go FULL Parliamentary

The Philippines not ready for parliamentary? I find that funny because the Philippines is showing it's more than ready to accept the parliamentary form of government. Right now, it's a trending battle on social media to have the Diehard Duterte Supporters (DDS) go head-to-head against the Dilawans in social media. I heard some DDS are just as guilty of using fake news against the Dilawans while other fake DDS pages are making fake news to serve as evidence. There are even arguments of who's better between President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice President Leni Loud Robredo. Aside from that, a comparison between the current administration and the former president, Noynoy Aquino's administration, is done. The two sides are at constant battle yet there's more press conferences for each other rather than a real live televised debate between the two sides.

It's always argued that the parliamentary system can't fit the Philippines for many reasons. Some argue that the Marcos years were parliamentary when in reality - Ninoy Aquino had proven that the Marcos Years were a MOCK parliamentary. Ninoy had given his words that you can't have a parliamentary without a parliament. Would have Marcos been a prime minister in a REAL parliamentary - there would be an Opposition which he has to answer to and vice-versa. Others say it's the quality of the politicians. It's stupid how the current Opposition together with the leftist political groups praises the resignations done in a parliamentary system but not willing to shift to it. What they need to realize the one thing that systems INFLUENCE behavior. What do you think led to resignations of ministers in PARLIAMENTARY countries while the Philippines is stuck with trapos and balimbings? It's again the FORM OF GOVERNANCE. To say that it's not a matter of presidential and parliamentary but of the quality of the people is making a big mistake. Look at parliamentary countries or presidential countries with parliamentary features - aren't they doing BETTER than the Philippines? It's because of the parliamentary system.

Politicians tend to contradict themselves more in the presidential system. Take a good look at Leni Loud herself. She's both Vice President and Opposition Leader at the same time. Occupying two positions at once reduces efficiency in contrast to holding only one position you can focus on. If she's ready to lead the Opposition then why not lead it as the Opposition Leader and don't be vice president anymore? The problem with the current presidential system is that most of the time - the president and the vice president are from different parties. I wonder how many people are willing to have Leni Loud for president and Bongbong Marcos for vice president? Just the mere thought that Leni Loud would be president and Bongbong as vice president would be even worse than the current scenario. Both Duterte and Leni Loud are more than ready to be Prime Minister and Opposition Leader. Unfortunately, they are stuck in the role of being in the Government while Leni Loud is now in a bizarre scenario of being caught in-between the two sides.

Want to vote straight? Want to vote #OtsoDiretso? Why not go for full parliamentary? Supporters of the Liberal Party complained that they can't vote for #OtsoDiretso via bloc voting. In the parliamentary - people vote by parties. Each party already has their prime minister (or leader) AUTOMATICALLY voted when a voter makes that checkmark. #OtsoDiretso will not even be formed because it will be voted automatically should a voter vote for the Liberal Party. Alan Peter S. Cayetano wouldn't need to say, "Don't vote for me if you don't vote for Duterte." because he would be automatically voted for by the people when PDP-Laban is voted. Votation counts determine which party will be the Government and which party will be the Opposition. Both parties will have a more defined role in which each minister has a shadow minister. How is that possible? It's because you vote by party and each party has an assigned role for every legislator-to-be in the next elections.

Weekly questioning REALLY helps. Consider the scenario of what if Duterte and Leni Loud were actually facing each other EVERY WEEK? What if Duterte were giving his weekly COVID-19 reports and Leni Loud is giving her solutions? But not just Duterte and Leni - all members of their respective parties will be subjected to the 7.5 minutes time limit per person. Each side must show off their platform of solutions. It will mean that you can't just criticize - you need to criticize CONSTRUCTIVELY since not all criticism is helpful. Criticism is only helpful when it corrects a mistake and gives alternative courses of action. Weekly live debates will show the best and the worst of EVERY PERSON. That means Duterte will have to control himself and Leni Loud can't cut off the conversation by offering snacks. Leni Loud should offer her solutions and not bowls of porridge during the weekly question hour.

Term extension amendments? Well, that was the desire done during Noynoy's administration. You can consider how some wanted Noynoy to have one more term. Why settle for one more term when a person can have as many terms until he or she is no longer fit to be in office? If we were parliamentary then Noynoy himself can have another term either as prime minister (assuming he wasn't voted out by a vote of no confidence) or be the current opposition leader against Duterte. No need to have Loida Nicolas-Lewis' suggestion of six years under Mar Roxas and another six years under Leni Loud. It would be because Noynoy himself can have another term as long as he remains fit to be in office. The same applies to every person within the parliament.

The presidential system has only limited people or placed DDS vs. Dilawan under low productivity. A parliamentary system will put both DDS vs. Dilawan in pressure to be productive. It's just like businesses are pressured to innovate when they are faced with heavy competition. That's why the Philippines needs to go parliamentary instead of getting stuck with DDS vs. Dilawan.

  1. Yup, at this point we're just doing a pseudo parliamentary system. The president had his own SONA and the vice president had her own "SONA". It's just infuriating at this point that both parties are just doing a parliamentary system without actually doing it.
