#OneMoreTermForPNoy? Yellowtards Should've Campaigned For #ShiftToParliamentary Instead!

It's really astounding how some people to tag #OneMoreTermForPNoy yet they didn't want to shift to the parliamentary system. Some critics of Noynoy Aquino who asked if he was so good then why isn't the Philippines a first world country fail to see term limits are more of a hindrance than a necessity. Others opposed the idea of giving Noynoy another term in fears that he might become another President Marcos. Well, instead of hashtagging #OneMoreTermForPNoy - why don't they open their minds and find out that shifting to the parliamentary system is NOT about people staying in power forever. Some Yellowtards wanted to give Noynoy another term yet they opposed the idea of constitutional reform because the 1987 Constitution is supposedly the best in the world. WUT?

What they fail to consider is that Noynoy is just a powerless person now. Under the parliamentary system - Noynoy could still be in office depending on circumstances. For instance, if the Liberal Party was able to perform one term well and brought in major improvements then why not? The Parliament would have probably given Noynoy another term as prime minister. Lee Kuan Yew ruled Singapore from 1959 to 1990. Mahathir Mohamad became the world's oldest prime minister after some time. If Yellowtards wanted to give Noynoy one more term then the parliamentary system has the answers. It's because Noynoy himself isn't defined by term limits except by circumstances such as blacklisting due to poor performance or that he got beheaded in Saudi Arabia for murder.

Loida Nicolas-Lewis certainly just didn't see the problem with her recommendations. Six years under Noynoy, six years under Mar Roxas, and six years under Leni Loud Robredo? The plan doesn't look as good. Granted, Loida is an American citizen and she's defined by the presidential term limits. If the Philippines were parliamentary - she would be campaigning for the Liberal Party and she would probably say, "I can be positive that Noynoy can lead Philippines to better progress with as many terms as a prime minister requires!" Noynoy had several ambitious projects but they were all left hanging because of term limits. Can you imagine if President Rodrigo R. Duterte decided to drop them out of spite? What if Duterte decided to drop any useful plans Noynoy had for the country? Also, what made Loida think Leni and Mar had the capacity to continue Noynoy's work? If Noynoy was so capable then why define him by the presidential system's term limits?

Sadly, the Dilawans are a classic case of fighting against reforms that could've benefited them. If they supported foreign investments then ABiaS-CBN wouldn't be in its pickle right now. If they supported parliamentary then no need to amend the constitution for #OneMoreTermForPNoy. Would've they supported federalism then decision making and giving regions their powers would've been possible. They could've achieved Daang Matuwid towards progress if they supported constitutional reform.
