Many Filipinos May Have No One But THEMSELVES To Blame For Being Unprepared For The COVID-19 Outbreak

Here's a bit of a meme which was probably said (or not) by Kayabangan Partylist or did they? I really just want to think of how the COVID-19 outbreak has been bad for business (but maybe not for hospitals). Some areas of the Philippines have the malls shut down for quarantine reasons such as the need for disinfection. Then one has to consider the sad fact that there are more Filipinos are guilty of not being well-prepared for times of disaster and not learning to handle their expenses properly. Christmas and New Year are over months ago and I wonder if they're thinking about recovering from their losses or are they STILL OVERSPENDING like it's raining gold coins? That's why I dare say that it's THEIR FAULT that they're stuck in the current predicament of being unprepared. That is they have very little to no money and they don't have the right supplies.

Think about all the panic buying and many businesses going on slowdown mode. The slowdown mode has valid reasons because of stuff such as curfews. Some do have the right to complain about work-related concerns but if it's an epidemic then it's an epidemic. These are the following questions worth asking. One, do you have money for medication and supplies? Two, do you have any supplies ready? While some businesses can still operate (such as pharmacies and groceries) but what's the use of them operating if you don't have money to buy goods? Money is still needed for businesses to operate. How can the groceries and pharmacies stock up on their supplies if they don't pay their suppliers? How can suppliers continue getting supplies if their customers don't pay them? Then again what do you expect from people who believe in the idealistic notions of communism's welfare-state utopia that defies the laws of economics?

Then we can consider the whole news when COVID-19 first came out. COVID-19 already started its plague during well, 2019. Why do you think it got the name COVID-19 aside from NCOV? 2019 was pretty much last year. The Philippines is VERY NEAR China. Rather than get ready - I think people would rather be ready for excessive celebrations. I'm not saying they should cancel their celebrations. Rather, I'm suggesting that they should've learned to celebrate simpler. It's like learning to have a birthday with just a few friends than inviting the whole village. They should've considered that it could hit the Philippines rather than mock innocent Chinese who fell victim to COVID-19. They should've also learned to budget their money all year round by focusing more on their needs than their wants. Instead, I even remembered how some people decided to buy an i-Phone X in spite of the alleged inflation last 2018. The whole irony is that some of them tend to hate capitalism but boy don't they love its products huh?

This situation today reminds of the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper. Do you remember when the grasshopper made fun of the ant storing food in the winter? In the end, the grasshopper ended up having no food during the winter. In some version of the story, the ant said, "Why don't you do your fiddling now?" They could've been ready if they thought of saving money for a rainy day or saving money for times of disaster. They could've learned to be like the ants. Instead, they chose to be like grasshoppers. The grasshopper had no one but himself to blame that he had no food for the winter, right?
