Leni Loud Robredo Should Give Constructive Criticism Or STFU If She Can't

Just reading updates on Vice President (if ever) Leni Loud Robredo are either comedy gold or failed comedies now, aren't they? I mentioned earlier the real problem of the current Philippine opposition is not criticizing the president myself. My bigger problem is just opposing for the sake of opposing or the failure to give better alternatives. I'm not saying it was wrong for #OtsoDiretso to go to Marawi to assess it. The big mistake was that they failed to suggest to President Duterte on how to do the project better. If they were doing it just to derail him so they could win then they deserve to lose. But if they decided to give alternatives to President Duterte on how to do a better job then maybe they would have won. The same could be true for Leni Loud as she shows she's not going to make a Member of the Parliament where she'd be in the Government (imagine her as Deputy Prime Minister) or as any member of the Opposition.

Right now, Leni Loud shows her to have a real thick face while having really thin skin. It's amazing how she uses her woman card to defend herself - never mind some of her fiercest critics are also women. She could have addressed the real underlying issues like poverty and unemployment with the drug war. Instead, she ends up rating on and on with very little to no solutions on sight. I don't think there's a problem if she thinks that President Duterte has failed in the drug war. Again, it's all about giving better alternatives. If she says that the poor are the target and not the big-time drug dealers. What does she propose to help solve the problem? Drug wars only get out of control when the underlying cause isn't treated together with political motivation. I think it's also failing because some drug dealers themselves may have some political backing.

This is the current problem of the presidential system in general. The presidential's opposition system is usually mumbo jumbo. You just vote for people from one party to another in hopes to maintain balance. If that's so then why don't we all campaign for Leni Loud as president and Bongbong Marcos as vice president for 2022 then? But I doubt it Leni Loud and Bongbong will get along if they sit together in the Malacanang this 2022. We can consider the incident where Carlos P. Garcia and Diosdado Macapagal didn't get along either. Maybe, we can also consider Fidel Valdez Ramos and Joseph Estrada were too much of a contrast from each other too. Check and balance by just mixing here and there isn't going to work much.

A Westminister Parliamentary System would've put a more defined role between both the majority and the minority. The majority wins the government seats and the minority becomes the opposition. The opposition here is more defined and no one from their side is on the other side. It's more defined and the opposition's job is not just to represent the minority but to offer better alternatives. They are there not just to criticize the government but to also offer constructive advice to the other. Leni Loud herself can't just criticize and criticize - she has to be constructive every time she gives them! Besides, being in parliament means you have to really give concrete solutions or consider getting ousted by a vote of no confidence.
