Can Senator Bam Aquino Survive In A Parliamentary Debate?

It's a shame that Senator Bam Aquino was once a celebrated student and businessmen has become a laughingstock. I mean, he's supposedly way more intelligent than I am but what has he been doing as of late? I think he really needs to review basic economics (considering that he's a businessman) but again what has he been doing as of late? He's been having his Aquino First Policy which made him fail to function properly as a member of the opposition. In a parliamentary setting, he would have probably been kicked out from whatever side of the parliament he belongs to whether he's a majority bloc senator or an opposition senator.

Let's put the situation of the parliament where he's in the side of the opposition. Bum can't just open his mouth like he does if he's in a parliamentary system. As of late, he's actually blaming the tax reform law for the increase of the goods and services. While he does have a point in trying to regulate certain excise taxes but did he bother to remember the basics of supply and demand? Now let's imagine the scenario in the Senate where Senator Alan Peter Cayetano (Majority Bloc) must now face off against Senator Bum Aquino (Minority Bloc) concerning the prices of goods.

Here's the sample debate -- Senator Cayetano and Senator Aquino must debate head-on with the issue of the increasing prices of goods and services, the tax reform law's excise tax on certain items and taxation rates. So let's imagine the following claims vs. the rebuttals that Senator Cayetano may fire against Senator Aquino (and vice-versa).

We can have the case where Senator Aquino may say in the parliamentary debate, "Greetings fellow members of the Filipino parliament, Prime Minister Rodrigo Duterte, Deputy Prime Minister Leni Robredo, I Senator Aquino from the Minority Bloc would like to address the issue of the increase of goods and services. I believe that the implementation of the TRAIN law has caused the increase of the prices of good sand services -- therefore I call for its possible abolition to return to our old tax system and to continue the 4Ps cash handout program."

This would end up with Senator Cayetano saying, "Greetings fellow members of the Filipino parliament, Prime Minister Duterte, Deputy Prime Minister Robredo, I Senator Cayetano from the Majority Bloc would like to object. I do agree we need to be a little more lenient with the excise tax on gasoline but blaming TRAIN for the increase of the prices of goods is uncalled for. We have called the tax reform in order to give people more purchasing power which in turn gives them a higher Marginal Propensity to Consume. Under the old tax law, people are overtaxed and have less purchasing power. Prices of good and commodities were lower due to supply and demand and not because of the absence of TRAIN."

If Senator Aquino can't prove his statements then it may end up with his removal regardless from which side he belongs. It may end up calling for a vote of no confidence against his position as senator if he can't prove his current claims or why he thinks that 4Ps is a jobs generating assistance program instead of focusing the budget on financing agricultural reform since he did mention the increasing prices of rice. Also, it may mean ideas that both senators will have in their debate must be tallied and to see the right and wrong from both sides. Unfortunately, Senator Aquino seems to be too one sided especially in his current role in the opposition.
