Antonio Trillanes IV Is A Microcosm Of What's Wrong With Filipino Society

I previously wrote that you don't need to be a political scientist to understand the basic fact that Antonio Trillanes IV is useless or how Marbobo Roxas and Leila Dilemma are microcosms of what's wrong with Filipino society. Right now, I feel like I want to write about how Trillanes himself is a picture of what's wrong with Filipino society. So how did Trillanes himself become a good example of what many Filipinos need to change? It's the whole issue of Filipinos and their love for gossip. Isn't it any wonder why a lot of Filipinos tend to spend too much time watching nonsense shows like Kris TV. Older shows that Filipinos who hate gossip shows (provided they were 90s kids) can talk about the late Inday Bandiday, Kristie Per Minute, Korina Sanchez's shows before she married Marbobo Roxas or a lot of shows on Filipino television is focused on hearsay.

What can be observe today in the TV or Internet is how many Filipino netizens tend to be too focused on unverified gossip and trivial issues. That issue alone should be a huge problem for decent Filipino netizens. You can have a lot of satirical news spread as real news because people don't bother to read posts or analyze their sources. Come to think of it I don't even feel happy why some people even believed my obviously satirical news articles. People can also have a lot of Internet trolls under Anonymous who can be seen to be Filipino by commenting in Taglish across social media. Then you have people who'll throw one accusation after the other because they are point missing trolls who only want to live in their echo chambers. They don't bother to look outside of the box before they jump into conclusions when it comes to gray areas. Isn't it any wonder why that I'm not a democrat I'm from the Nacionalista Party candidate Trillanes won his seat as a Senator?

Do you remember the interview he had with BBC's Stephen Sackur? Unfortunately that incident alone showed also what a lot of Filipinos need to change about themselves. When he was asked if he was a democrat he obviously didn't get the point. He chose to answer he was not a democrat but a member of the Nacionalista Party. He said that he has evidence that President Rodrigo R. Duterte ruled Davao City like a "king" but he has no proof. The whole interview should also be categorized as "Comedy" aside from "Politics". A lot of Filipinos really need to start giving specifics to prove their claims. Otherwise, anybody of any nationality or race is just a point misser if they can't even substantiate their claims.

Should I mention his failed coup is also something that proves something is wrong? I may not be a military strategist either but no good coup plotter ever launches a coup unprepared. I remembered reading the successful coups of various revolutionaries were all well-prepared. Do you think China and Russia would have fallen under Communism if the late dictators Vladimir Lenin and Mao Zedong didn't plan their takeover? It's also very common that many Filipinos tend to fail to prepare just for anything much to the annoyance of their fellow Filipinos who are well-prepared. Also, Trillanes is also very unprepared in launching his statements where he doesn't even take time to make sure that his fake evidence isn't easy to detect either.

By failing to prepare and by failing to verify you are only prepared to fail but not to recover from failure. I hope many Filipinos will learn from this article for the sake of every decent Filipino who's doing everything they can to fight for a better Philippines.
