WTF: Migraine International Wants To Junk Labor Export Policy While Rejecting Foreign Direct Investments?

Well I just can't stop but bombard harsh criticisms and rain on the parade of Filipino activist groups (and Filipinos who've had enough of them should do so) on their celebration of "St." Flor Contemplacion Day. I remembered the 20th anniversary of her death three years ago where the people at Migraine International still continue to portray her as a martyr instead of a criminal. This time, I would actually want to thrash their extreme stupidity by raising the question, "How does Migraine International expect to end labor export policy if they're so against Foreign Direct Investment?"

Using the basic knowledge of economics (and you don't need a Ph. D in economics to understand this simple post) can show how stupid the members of Migraine International really are. They want the government to create jobs at home but is it possible given the current conditions? One should take a look at the facts and figures or at least use one's basic economic knowledge. The supply and demand gap is very wide. Think about the number of Filipinos looking for jobs vs. the number of Filipinos who can provide jobs. They want more jobs but they refuse to allow Foreign Direct Investors in because the logic that foreign investors are foreign invaders or that foreign investors will destroy all the local businesses.

The stupidity of complaining about having no jobs while rejecting foreign direct investment can be illustrated in this way. Let's just say we're doing business and local supplies are cut short. If you're complaining that local supplies are cut short then importing becomes an alternative. For instance, if it's not logging season in the Philippines but it's logging system in Indonesia -- why don't you momentarily import lumber from Indonesia? The same can go that if there's a lack of local jobs then why not import jobs from other countries in the form of foreign investors? But again they still have their so-called nationalism all the while they use stuff born out of foreign influence.

We could go back to their heroine as many times as possible and why she even ended up in Singapore. The economic condition of the Philippines was so bad and they were so poor. If the Philippines had just liberated its economy years ago then I think she would have had better job opportunities in the midst of her failing marriage. Their heroine ended up in Singapore because that country had better pay rates than the Philippines. Hmmm... did they even realize how Singapore progressed from an island-nation poorer than the Philippines to a progressive Asian country?

The same can be said about the later inclusion of the "Three Filipino Martyrs in China" namely Elizabeth Batain, Ramon Credo and Sally Ordinario-Villanueva? Why do you think the drug mules were sent to China to import drugs in the first place even if there's the high risk that they could get executed? China has a much better economy (though honestly, it should shift to federalism ASAP due to the huge amount of congestion that's killing it) thanks to the use of economic liberalization. If those three "martyrs" just sold their wares in the Philippines then they may not get as much money as they did in a first world country like China.

As said, these people at Migraine International have lost all logic years ago. I may not even be an economics graduate myself but I know the stupidity of their logic by doing some self-study on basic economics. It's more than time to keep thrashing their arguments by educating more and more Filipinos about basic economics.
