Would The Anti-Reforms Dare Prove That The Marcos Years Were Parliamentary, Pro-FDI , For A BILLION PESOS TAX FREE?

With the news that Bobong Bongbong Marcos is running for president there - the anti-reform troll pages such as Change Scamming, Silent No More PH, Thinking Millennials, and most especially Pignoy Ako Blog are on the run. I don't deny that they do tell a GREAT DEGREE of truth about the Marcos Years not being the golden years. If they're still trying to insist on the "gains after EDSA" (such as Toady Casino would say it) then here's a bit of a challenge - are they willing to prove TWO THINGS right now for the sake of a billion pesos TAX-FREE?

The first challenge is to prove that the Marcos Years were a REAL PARLIAMENTARY

It's often said by the anti-reforms that the parliamentary system will never work because it was tried during the Marcos Years. However, evidence from both the late Ninoy Aquino and the late Lee Kuan Yew said otherwise. The late Ferdinand E. Marcos NEVER ran a real parliament.

The first thing that the anti-reforms need to do is to prove Ninoy wrong. Wait, isn't Ninoy one of their heroes? Yet, he had mentioned the fact that the Marcos Years weren't a real parliament. The Batasang Pambansa or the 1973 Constitution was NOT a real parliament. Common sense and research really prove he was right about that. A real parliamentary would have separated the head of state from the head of government. The president in a parliamentary system is a symbol of unity for the people. The prime minister is elected by his party and that party is elected by the people. The anti-reforms need to prove Ninoy's statements that showed that the Marcos parliament was a MOCK PARLIAMENT to be false first.

Years later, Lee Kuan Yew authored the book From Third World to First. eventually wrote that Cesar Virata was NO PRIME MINISTER. The description was that Virata was a NON-STARTER, a first-class administrator but NO POLITICAL LEADER. In a real parliament - Virata would've been a prime minister. If Marcos were prime minister then he could've been ousted by a vote of no confidence because the evidence against his corruption charges was PILING UP. Ninoy could've led the opposition with his own ministers. Ninoy could've proven IN FRONT of the cameras of Marcos' ill-gotten wealth in a real question hour. Instead, where was the weekly question hour during Marcos' "parliament"?

Marcos' "parliament" was comparable to the Imperial Senate in Star Wars. Palpatine simply used the Imperial Senate as a tool or prop to convince people that he wasn't a dictator at that time. However, Papatine effectively abolished the Imperial Senate during Star Wars IV: A New Hope to which was more or less similar to Marcos where he can dissolve parliament but parliament can't dissolve him. It was all for showbiz politics.

The second challenge is to prove that the Marcos Years were pro-FDI

Okay, I haven't heard of anyone saying (yet) that the Marcos Years were pro-FDI. It was a highly protectionist regime that protected the oligarchs. As for F**-Check Philippines - they are DEAD WRONG when they said that the current constitution doesn't protect the oligarchs with the 60-40 provision on certain industries. This would be a good challenge to anyone who thinks accepting FDI will increase foreign debt.

For a start, foreign debt is when you BORROW MONEY from other countries. FDI is when a foreign company invests in the Philippines and is subject to BY-LAWS to pay its income taxes. The rule of international business is that you pay taxes according to the tax laws of the country you're doing business in. Jollibee in Spain will pay Spanish taxes and SM in China will pay Chinese taxes. Marcos got the country poor not only because he stole but also because he borrowed TONS OF MONEY from abroad. Marcos protecting his cronies via protectionism didn't make things any better either.

Conclusion

I would like to say that this is probably one offer the anti-reforms can't refuse. However, to win the billion pesos, tax-free, here's some conditions that I'd love to emphasize before any of them can get that money

  • To point from LEGITIMATE sources and not sites or social media pages like Silent No More and Pignoy Ako Blog for a start.
  • Don't get your sources from Rappler, ABiaS-CBN, Inquirer, or the liberal American media like the New York Times. Instead, get them from sources like Forbes.
  • Don't get your sources from the likes of IBON Foundation and Bayad Muna - both are CPP-NPA legal fronts carrying the doctrine of Joma Sison.
  • Make books by Lee such as From Third World to First as a source to prove that the Marcos Years were a real parliament and accepted FDI. Just don't mention Lee's quotes about the Marcoses - point out anywhere in the book where he said that they were a legitimate parliamentary.
  • Go to any parliamentary country and try to get proof that the Marcos Years were a real parliament.
What are they waiting for? They should get started now! Hahahahahahaha!
