Christmas Law Enforcement May Consider Getting Twice More Vigilant Due To COVID-19

Whether you're DDS or not isn't the issue. In my case, I'm more of a Duterte supporter who won't hesitate to criticize the president's shortcomings. What all people need to agree that Christmas is definitely a season for foolishness. Why do you think hold-ups increase during Christmas? It's because of the Christmas bonus and/or the 13th-month payments that employees receive during the month. Please take note of the common, irritating habits that exist during the Christmas season. It's not just the noisy parties (which in turn could help spread COVID-19 this pandemic). It's also when people ask for unreasonable leniency with the "But it's Christmas!" to get away with whatever wrong they do. Nope, I'm actually calling for a more vigilant Christmas law enforcement. It's because the problem can work both ways - the pasaway population and the government when it fails to do its job.

Why would there be a need for more vigilant law enforcement? Please observe every Christmas that there's a lot of monkey business. Holduppers are just waiting for people to come out because of the 13th-month pay and Christmas bonus. People tend to get drunk wasting their Christmas bonuses. These are already activities that are prevalent before the COVID-19 epidemic. Do you think COVID-19 will mean people will be more behaved? In contrast, some people still remain with their impoverished mentality. Many of them will still want to break social distancing guidelines such as no mass gatherings (while hypocritically criticizing Debold Sinas' birthday) since it's Christmas. Is it me or is Christmas in the Philippines seemingly incomplete without the festivities? With that, they will again willfully break quarantine guidelines AND then blame the government later for their plight.

I'm not saying that the Philippines should go back to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) unless necessary. It's because the ECQ has already caused a massive plunge in the economy. Borrowing money from other countries has become a necessity. Instead, it's all about having more vigilant enforcement as some businesses and customers are bound to break the guidelines because it's Christmas. This would be to call that policemen and soldiers can't afford to relax just because it's Christmas. Instead, they need to be more vigilant because lawbreaking is really THAT rampant during Christmas. Still don't want the policemen and soldiers to be more vigilant? Watch the news about America's rising cases of COVID-19 this December 2020. America is living proof that pasaways do share in rising COVID-19 cases. Yet, pasaways will NEVER want to blame themselves because it's NEVER their fault - at least according to them!

This would be a call to be stricter (but not revert to ECQ) for one good reason. We REALLY don't want to revert back to ECQ now, do we? Why are countries like Taiwan, South Korea, and EVEN CHINA getting better results? It's because as former Taiwanese vice president Chen Chien Jen says - it's all about having the good discipline and social distancing. It's strange how the pasaways love to mention other countries winning yet they don't want the keys used in the Philippines. Stricter implementation of GCQ rules will be to protect every law-abiding Filipino during this Christmas season from pasaways.
