CONFUSING: Media Bias/Fact Check Says ABS-CBN Is Least Biased But Not For Inquirer And Rappler?

While I was doing some research yesterday - I just found out that there's this organization called Media Bias/Fact Check. I was trying the bias measurement of ABiaS-CBN and Rappler from the same website which is labeled and unscientific as well as subjectively biased assessors by Poynter and Columbia Journal Review respectively. The Yellowtards love to use foreign sources to defend their favorite media, right? Well, it's time to really share this interesting finding that according to Media Bias/Fact Check that ABiaS-CBN is supposedly least biased while they say Philippine Daily Inquirer (PDI) is LEFT-CENTER BIASED while Rappler is LEFT-BIASED.

Here's what Media Bias/Fact Check has to say about ABiaS-CBN which Yellowtards may use to shover on the faces of people:

These sources have minimal bias and use very few loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes).  The reporting is factual and usually sourced.  These are the most credible media sources. See all Least Biased Sources.

  • Overall, we rate ABS-CBN Least Biased based on balanced story selection and some opposition to the government. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to a clean fact check record and use of proper sources.

Detailed Report
Factual Reporting: HIGH
Country: Philippines
World Press Freedom Rank: Philippines 134/180

History

ABS-CBN Corporation is a media and entertainment organization based in the Philippines and founded in 1946. It is the Philippines’ leading information and entertainment multimedia conglomerate. According to their about page the company is primarily involved in television, radio broadcasting, and web publishing. Eugenio Lopez III is the chairman of ABS-CBN Corporation.

Here's what Media Bias/Fact Check has to say about PDI:

These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias.  They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes.  These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Left-Center sources.

Factual Reporting: MIXED

Notes: The Philippine Daily Inquirer, popularly known as the Inquirer, is the most widely read broadsheet newspaper in the Philippines, with a daily circulation of 260,000 copies. The Philippine Daily Inquirer reports international news with minimal bias and is not always factually sourced. Has left of center editorial bias.

Here's what Media Bias/Fact Check has to say about Rappler:

LEFT BIAS

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation.  They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Factual Reporting: MIXED

Notes: Rappler is an online news site based in the Philippines with a bureau in Jakarta, Indonesia. One of the distinguishing features of Rappler is its “Mood Meter” consisting of bubbles showing the way people react to certain news. The Mood Meter is embedded on each story. Users are asked “how does this story make you feel?” and are given 8 different emotions to choose from – happy, sad, angry, afraid, annoyed, inspired, amused and don’t care. The top ten stories with the most votes over a 48-hour period appear on the Mood Navigator. Rappler has left-wing bias in reporting news from the Philippines. They are fiercely opposed to President Duterte and his anti-drug campaign where he advocates killing drug users. We give a mixed factual reporting rating based on some disputes regarding claims made by Rappler. When reporting international news Rappler is relatively low biased and straightforward.
