Pasaways Have Been Demanding For #MassTestingPH But Are They Willing To Follow SIMPLE GUIDELINES?

I might not be a doctor, nurse, or medical technologist doesn't mean I can't at least do research from their works, right? This is another common sense post that I'm willing to write as a nobody blogger. I wrote earlier that pasaways shouldn't get a free pass during the COVID-19 or the Legacy Virus epidemic. Now, it's time for me to actually write about the pasaways who are demanding for #MassTestingPH (and Vice President Leni Loud Robredo didn't say immediately but As Soon As Possible). Other wokes are already saying that the Philippines is in dire shape or overly criticizing the Duterte Administration. Nothing is wrong with criticizing the Duterte Administration. However, they would rather criticize for the sake of it than put any real solutions. Leni Loud did buy some kits but she may be admitting it might not be enough.

We can consider the popular Pasay City mayor Vico Sotto. Sotto himself does get into headlines because he does have his innovative thinking. We also have Isko Moreno as another headline mayor. Vico's reply for mass testing might piss off some pasaways who idolize him. The translation for his statement would be:

Yes there is. Mass testing does not mean everyone gets tested (unless we can do it, but as of right now, we can't do it). It still needs to be strategic and targeted.

It's like a "mass wedding" where it means that there's plenty. We do hundreds of tests a day.

Vico is obviously pointing out that hundreds are done in a day and that it's got to be strategic and targeted. That means not everyone can be tested. We have to consider the constraints such as disposing of swab samples. Swab samples containing the Legacy Virus are highly dangerous. I think Vico is purposely limiting the mass testing to hundreds per day because it wouldn't be easy to get rid of pathogenic agents. Not to mention the number of qualified volunteers may not be enough.

Pasaways need to note of Taiwan's current actions against the COVID-19 or Legacy Virus outbreak

Also, for those pasaways who are now virtue signaling by mentioning Taiwan. I bet they're just a bunch of sorry point-missing idiots with really bad reading comprehension

An interview with Vice President Chen Chien-Jen (who is also Taiwan's leading epidemiologist) from The Telegraph has these paragraphs which I selected for emphasis:

Yes, sure. It will never be too late to control any kind of outbreak in any country. There are still a lot of chances for different countries to adopt good strategies developed here to help contain the outbreak. Social distancing and good health behaviour are definitely important – frequent handwashing, measuring body temperature, using a face mask if necessary. At home, close contacts [of the infected] shouldn’t dine together. The [patient] can live in a single room. It’s not necessary to stop all activities. As long as more than 50% of the population reduces 50% of their social contacts then the outbreak can be controlled. They can go to school, to work but must reduce non-essential recreation and social contact.

In Taiwan we didn’t practice mass testing because among 395 cases, only 55 were locally transmitted, and the infection source could not be traced in only ten cases. If many cases have no known infection sources then you have to do mass testing. But it is sometimes neither efficient nor cost effective. You have to test [patients’] close contacts as a first priority, then high-risk groups – healthcare workers, supermarket cashiers, taxi and public transport drivers. If they aren’t infected then others won’t be.

Taiwan Today also has this to say about Chen's Taiwan model:

Regarding suggestions for other countries and territories working to manage the pandemic, renowned epidemiologist Chen said social distancing and designated testing of close contacts of confirmed cases and high risk groups are more effective than mass testing.

It would bring the big dilemma of demanding for #MassTestingPH and #MassTestingNow. I wonder if Jover Laurio is reading this one considering she actually went to Taiwan last 2019. Jover praised Taiwan but she still sticks with the Dilawans and she's even going against badly needed constitutional reforms. If Jover thinks that the recent 1987 Constitution is "da best in the world" then she should've had her honeymoon in North Korea or Venezuela. I wonder if she realizes that her demand for #MassTestingPH hasn't been used in Taiwan yet. Taiwan is coping up against the Legacy Virus better than the Philippines. Reasons? It's not just the people but also the policies. Taiwan has an open economy that allows the government more money to spend than the Philippines. I wonder if Jover even bothered to analyze how Taiwan got better or did she just go there for pasyal-pasyal?

Taiwan didn't progress through the "national industry" as leftists may want to make it look like. Instead, Taiwan's story of economic progress lies under its economic policies. Taiwan itself accepted foreign investments which brought it to progress today. If those pasaways still don't want foreign investments then sorry for them - the Philippines will truly relapse to the sick man of Asia status. The Asian Correspondent even mentions that Joseph Estrada, Gloria-Macapagal-Arroyo, and Noynoy Aquino have eased restrictions to foreign investors. Now only if we can totally remove Article XII of the 1987 Constitution COMPLETELY so the Philippines can recover after the losses during the COVID-19 pandemic spending.

That means if pasaways want the program to succeed then they need to really heed Chen's advice. Chen mentions that social distancing and designated testing is more effective than mass testing. Although the government should give certain aid, work at home alternatives should be put, alternate or rotational work schedules can be used, or whatever measures - if you're told to stay at home because there's a plague they stay at home! The simple guidelines set by Chen are simple - social distancing and designated testing because they are more effective than mass testing. Yet, pasaways will always have their way of not following simple guidelines, right?
