The Local Filipino Business Environment Is Full Of Bondyings

I remembered the Tagalog comedy film where an adult still thinks like a child. It's not known how it happened but it must be presumably his mother's fault for doing so. I think Bondying would be a good illustration of the Filipino businessman who is pampered by economic protectionism. One Bondying was already annoying enough. Unfortunately, the Philippines is full of Bondyings running the economy.

The issue with Filipino businesses becoming a bunch of Bondyings is because of economic protectionism. The idea that foreign investors will stunt the growth of Filipino businesses is absurd. Instead, it's the other way around. Do you ever think why prices are high yet salaries are hardly high? It's because of the economy. You can do research on the minimum wage per country and find out that countries with higher wages have free markets. Countries where OFWs work in have higher wages. Why can't the Philippines have bigger salaries? It's because of the economy!

Economic protectionism is babying and not promoting the growth of Filipino businesses. The restriction of competition through economic protectionism has only served the selfish needs of the oligarchs. It has resulted in small and medium businesses being unable to grow up. The reason why they can't grow up is because of a lack of competition and potential customers. No competition means no competitiveness - get that fact into your thick skull! The oligarchs get so powerful like a spoiled child who gets everything he or she wants from his parents. The result is you've got powerful men with the mindset of a toddler. They don't want to do their services properly because if there's hardly any competition then why bother to innovate? Innovation only gets pushed through when there's COMPETITION. Competition made Jollibee it is today - not an absence of it!

How would free markets help Bondying businesses man up? Competition makes them think, "If I don't innovate and give better services then I perish!" Then it comes to the point that they think, "My suppliers have competitors then I must have more suppliers! My customers have competitors and now I must get more customers!" instead of looking at competition like a crybaby would. Just think Singapore and China used to be nations full of Bondyings until Lee Kuan Yew and Deng Xiao Ping came in. It was the free market that turned their Bondying economies into manned-up economies. Isn't it about time that the Philippines' economic system like Bondying (at the end of the film) finally decide to grow up?
