Excessive Libel Laws Only Serve To Cater Towards Easily Offended People

It's very easy to claim to be manly or to be strong especially if somebody outright refuses to engage in your nonsense battles. However, let a real fight kick in or let people get offended then you can expect all the victim playing done by these losers. They may even want someone to just stop blogging please because their precious feelings have been hurt. Then you do have the problem of the unjust libel clause of the cybercrime law last 2012. It's so stupid to jail someone all because they got offended over the Internet. While the digital age is indeed a call for great responsibility (remember the Spiderman quote) but shouldn't cybercrime me more applicable to hacking into somebody's privacy and stealing their data? Shouldn't name-calling or gossiping be ignored as much as possible - unless said gossip really HARMED somebody's life like what Maria Ressa did with Wilfredo Keng?

I remembered how there was this stupid policy that said Internet libel could land anybody in jail for 12 YEARS which was done last 2012. So why should people who commit libel over the Internet social media and blogging platform me more liable in contrast to printed libel done in publications? Twelve years for libel? I really find that stupid especially if said statement DID NOT HARM ANYONE but the person's fragile ego. I can't imagine how many REAL PENDING CASES that involve real crimes will go unprocessed because of somebody's butthurt ego. How is that for claiming to be a "manly Filipino" huh? A real manly Filipino wouldn't stoop so low to insult others and get mad when their ego is attacked. They would not be trolling and they would ignore trolls.

If somebody could go to jail for up to 12 years for insulting your ego - that would definitely cater to a new generation of snowflakes. They would definitely want it because of their fragile ego. You can imagine the problem of the common, irritating ways that Filipinos react to criticism - they include accusing others of being racist (while being racist themselves) or calling Filipinos who criticize them as "traitors". They might even want to call Filipinos who get their feelings hurt as guilty of an act of treason when it isn't. Snowflakes are willing to do ANYTHING to protect their "precious beliefs" especially if it's about their really fragile pride.

Decriminalizing libel to a certain extent may help fix the Filipino ego to become more resilient. I'm not saying that publication companies shouldn't get charged if they wrote something that endangered somebody's life. If publication companies were paid to malign somebody then they should be criminally charged to a certain extent. However, if said petty articles over the Internet or publications ended up getting disregarded as nonsense then why even bother to entertain the case to start with? Why would I let people who insult me online pay even a fine for supposedly hurting my ego? Denying anyone the right to sue for something stupid will make them stronger people. True, it hurts but as said, isn't it time to MAN UP and not just claim you're so manly but get easily offended in the process.
