Will #TindigPilipinas Make Arlene Trillanes The Newest Grieving Widow In Case Antonio F. Trillanes IV Dies?
As Antonio F. Trillanes IV is indeed the new "Ninoy Aquino" then it's time to ask the question on whether or not his wife Arlene O. Trillanes will become the next Cory Aquino. After all, endorsing dead politicians' widows has become part of the Philippine atmosphere, isn't it? Ninoy died and Cory C. Aquino as their new presidential candidate against the late Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. during the martial law years. Jesse Robredo died and they made Leni Loud Robredo their vice-presidential candidate against Bongbong Marcos.
Now the question is if in case Trillanes dies during the term of President Duterte -- will they decide that his wife Arlene will become the next grieving widow? It seems to be coming to place. Trillanes is now saying he's a victim of political persecution even when the reality is he's actually a convicted mutineer. His amnesty turns out to be null and void to start with so why honor it? Think about how many people could have been hurt during the Oakwood Mutiny. Now like Ninoy -- Trillanes is already playing the victim after he's arrested for participating in such shenanigans. These are the pieces that are coming together.
What's the possible next step? I could imagine ABS-CBN would probably create two episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya called "The Arlene Trillanes Story" and "The Antonio Trillanes IV Story" after said event (which is Trillanes' death by gunpoint) should happen. They would try to fill it with their own devious imagination to demonize the current administration. Maybe, we may see Arlene declare that she will continue her husband's good work and mention her similarity to Cory in the process. She may even run for office or even vow to topple down President Duterte with an upcoming EDSA revolution. If ever Trillanes would need a heart (or head) operation then maybe, we'd probably have President Duterte even allow the former to go abroad to have that operation done.
Unfortunately for #TindigPilipinas -- the same strategy may no longer work. Let's face it -- Leni Loud Robredo's position as vice president is now becoming more questionable than ever. Should Duterte declare an automatic snap election on him vs. Arlene -- the former would probably still win the said election. Even if they do gather at EDSA -- but can they fill EDSA like they did back in the 1986 EDSA Revolution? It doesn't even look like Arlene will get the sympathy of the people either. Instead, it may end up as a huge party for the Philippines should Trillanes get shot. So they might as well forget turning Arlene into the newest grieving widow in case Trillanes should die a very horrible death.
