#PAO's Handling Of #DengGate Makes It The Real #CHR In Practice

It's disgusting to how Chito Gascon apparently shows very little concern for the Dengvaxia victims. So who's the real Commission on Human Rights chairperson right now in practice? If your answer is Atty. Persida V. Rueda-Acosta then you've got that right. Atty. Acosta is investigating all human rights violations whether they are done by state agents or not. It doesn't take a political scientist to understand the basic fact that CHR should go after all human rights violations -- and not just those committed by state agents.

I read how so many victims of DengVaxia went to the Public Attorney's Office on Monday. This is where I'd like to ask -- does Gascon even deserve his budget or even to be called attorney? He's an attorney but he's one who doesn't live up to his name or his current position. It looks like that PAO itself has inadvertently become the Commission on Human Rights instead of the actual office where Gascon is currently the chairman. Gascon as a Liberal Party campaign manager doesn't even qualify him to be a human rights chair -- which makes is appointment was such a joke. He was appointed based on connections than his credibility.

It's not surprising to find former health officials are trying to stop PAO from doing the badly needed autopsies. Doesn't that sound suspicious when you've got people trying PAO to stop doing a critical investigation of such a critical issue? Why is Janette Garin fearing things so badly? Is she fearful that she may end up like the Chinese health minister Zheng Xiao Yu who got executed during the melamine fiasco in China? Fortunately, Atty. Acosta is going to carry it out because it's badly needed. Evidence is badly needed before anyone can be properly condemned as a human rights violator. It's stupid for anyone to call for due process while trying to stop PAO from investigating the deaths related to the DengVaxia fiasco. Due process requires finding of evidence and non-obstruction of justice. Please don't confuse due process with Etta Rosales -- those are two different terms.

No, the PAO is not fanning the flames of fears and doubt. It's fighting for the human rights of those who have been victimized by DengVaxia. If anyone has been fanning the flames of fears and doubt then it's the biased mainstream media with their tabloid sensationalism. Hopefully, results that will get the culprits behing #DengGate will be found and justice will be served.
