Want More Accountability Resignations? SHIFT TO PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM!

It's amazing how "thought leaders" like Change Scamming and Silent No More PH (since when have they been silent) have admired the performances of PARLIAMENTARY COUNTRIES. Yet, these people are also against Charter Change (which is better coined as constitutional reform - these people start their blah blah blahs as to why the parliamentary system wouldn't work in the Philippines. Instead of funding a troll army (which they also accuse President Bobong Marcos of doing so which is also PROBABLE as a troll war may commence) - they could've been the official Kakampink Opposition that will hold the Uniteam Government accountable EVERY WEEK.

The recent scandal of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla's son is something. I think Remulla should RESIGN as an act of decency. New Zealand's David Clark resigned as health minister when he breached quarantine protocols. Here, I'm amazed at how it was almost impossible to hold former health secretary Francisco Duque accountable. How can Duque be held accountable if there was no weekly question hour? Duque isn't even appearing at the Philippine legislative to account for the COVID-19 weekly reports. Former vice president Atty. Leni Loud Robredo even recommended weekly reports. That's why I think Leni Loud may still have a chance to be converted to constitutional reform. Leni Loud would've served as the Leader of the Opposition if Bobong were the Prime Minister.

This reminds me of a Get Real Philippines article where one of the authors wrote about a Philippine parliament. I got into an argument with this "Jason" fellow who I love to dub as Jason VOORHEES. I could imagine Jason VOORHEES here wearing a hockey mask, carrying his machete, hoping his massacre of politicians will change Philippine politics for the better. Though, the way Jason here writes is more filled with idealism while claiming he's grounded on realism. You can read the comments at the Get Real Philippines page to find out how the guy is a total headache.

When will people ever get it that the Marcos Sr. Years was again NOT A PARLIAMENT. People saying that the Marcos Empire was a parliamentary government are either ignorant, malicious or a bad combination of both. The very "opinion" of the late Lee Kuan Yew about Cesar Virata is rooted in fact. Virata was considered to replace the dying Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. (who was probably not too keen on letting his crown prince, Bobong, succeed the throne). The Butasang Pambulsa has already been established to be nothing more than a mockery of sorts. Marcos Sr. was once both president and prime minister. Later, Virata was nothing more than a state assistant like a chief minister to a monarchy. In this case, Virata was pretty much a state executive to an emperor who probably didn't want Bobong to inherit the throne. I even heard Bobong had cocaine issues. In some way, the late Noynoy Aquino had a better record. Sure, I did criticize Noynoy but at least the fellow wasn't guilty of snorting cocaine or partying on a royal yacht. Noynoy did have a very bad situation. All the bad things that happened under the Marcos Empire were under a PRESIDENTIAL government with a modified parliament. It was still a presidential system overall where Marcos Sr. was emperor for life.

Things will get worse under a parliamentary system? Well, that Jason VOORHEES guy should book a ticket to Singapore and tell that to their current Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong. That's why I told him that Lee Kuan Yew, Margaret Thatcher, and Shinzo Abe are all laughing at him from the afterlife. Then again according to Jason VOORHEES - the press is the weekly questioning. Sadly, Lee Kuan Yew called the Philippines press to be RAMBUNCTIOUS according to his book From Third World to First. I guess Jason VOORHEES never got my explanation that every government minister has an opposition minister. Just imagine if Remulla, for EVERY WEEK, had to give account to a shadow justice minister. Remulla would need on live TV every week. Don't tell me that kind of setting will not force shame - something that Filipino politicians barely have thanks to the presidential system?

The resignation happens when the SYSTEM blatantly encourages it. How often are the laws in the Philippines good only on paper? It's because no encouragement to enforce it either. People who screwed up during the time of the late Corazon Cojuangco-Aquino up to the present should be attributed to the current system. I think former senator Liela De Lima would've probably resigned over the Bilibid fiasco. I think De Lima's case is more centered on neglect than being in cahoots. Still, I agree with Rigoberto Tiglao that De Lima should've had the decency to resign. Is it that a lack of shame is hardcore on this so-called unique "Pinoy DNA"? Please, remember Mao Zedong's China was full of politicians with shameless behavior. Singapore was once even more corruption-plagued than the Philippines. Singaporeans had a long way to go before they became a model ASEAN country.

Charter change or constitutional reform should no longer be associated with one color. You can be a DDS or Dilawan and support it. Besides, the DDS vs. Dilawan setting already should say, "We just need a parliamentary system." Now, it's the Uniteam vs. Kakampinks. Why not have a parliamentary setup once and for all huh?
