Miriam Defensor Santiago Would've Probably Died Much Earlier If She Joined The International Clown Court

There was that time when Miriam Defensor Santiago was once elected to become a judge at the International Criminal Court -- better yet renamed as the International Clown Court. She did decline for health reasons but there's one thing I'd like to assume about the Iron Lady -- she probably saw all the filth at ICC as a bigger reason than her deteriorating health to decline the offer to be a judge at the ICC.

The ICC itself has showed several signs of inefficiency, ineffectiveness and in short plenty of  INCOMPETENCY in itself as a criminal court. You're a criminal court and you ought to be impartial. Manila Times has also revealed that the ICC relies on flawed investigations and lack of transparency. I guess that's why they support the pork barrel politicians whose funding sources are just as questionable as theirs. Just imagine what if Miriam stepped into the ICC and saw all of that.

She was already having cancer and the stress of the ICC could've taken her life. Can you imagine what if she stepped into the ICC and saw all the malice and dirt in it? She would have probably died in disgust at how incompetent the court is. Forbes Magazine also mentioned last 2014 its inefficiency of being able to convict only two warlords in 12 years and the budget is USD 1 Billion. You don't need to be a legal expert to see that they are just as bad -- if not worse than the Philippine judicial system in being so slow.

She made the right choice to use whatever was remaining of her life by NOT joining the ICC as a judge. I guess she knew all its dirty secrets and didn't want to be corrupted. She may have had her mistakes here and there but being easily bought out was not one of them. She would have not been able to run for president, give her intelligent debates and challenge all the candidates. She would have probably not made whatever was left of her to fight for a better Philippines.
