The whole incident that happened yesterday when a cement mixer crushed a car ruined a family's life. Here's the news from Interaksyon:
The fatality was identified as 34-year-old Ulysses Ramos, who was with his wife Marife Ramos, 35, and their children Ulariza Ramos, 12; Eugene Marcos Ramos, 8; and Enrico Mateo Ramos, 4.
The driver of the truck, identified as 27-year-old Jason Muleta, emerged unscathed from the incident. He said he had lost control of the brakes, forcing him to change direction. The truck then hit the road’s center island causing the cement mixer to tip over and squeeze the car, resulting in the gruesome crash.
“Tapak ako nang tapak ng preno, ayaw huminto. Kumabig ako sa kaliwa para sumampa sa island, pagsampa ko biglang tumaob ang mixer,” said Nuay.
The first ones rescued were Marife and her children. Ulysses was already unconscious when rescuers came to his aid two hours later. He was declared dead at 7:32 p.m.
The truck driver surrendered to authorities and was brought to Quezon City Police District Station 6.
Police said Muleta would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple injuries.
I doubt the driver's testimony. Many times, many truck drivers are overspeeding and others don't even do maintenance to their vehicles. I think the company hasn't done any maintenance to their vehicles. This alone ruined someone's life. The family was trying to have a good time and it's ruined because of this incident.
This makes me think again of the same stupid fat guy who keeps insisting that he will kill himself if he has to follow disciplinary rules. He may have failed to consider if he doesn't commit suicide then he may end up getting killed himself for not following simple guidelines. If you don't follow traffic rules then think how your incidents may become bigger. What could have just been a slight injury ends up getting somebody severely injured or dead. What could have just been a dent in one's car ends up as a huge car crash which may even kill the person driving with one's passengers. This should make anyone think that not following rules has serious consequences.
